thanks for the feedback.

paid a visit to Naidu today morning.

Initial diagnostic was that compressor could be kaput but best to refill the gas first.

Refilled the gas and walah the noise is gone completely.

Damage - MYR 30/-.

Anyways just asked the cost of the compressor - given two options

1) Modify and install used e36 compressor - below MYR 1K

2) New e46 compressor - MYR 2K++.

Hoping prob solved for good.

Air-cond humming noise resolved

Hey Devils-Ad,

Paid Naidu a visit over the weekend and told him about what u did for him. He checked the volume of my air-cond gas and it was fine. So we decided that we should just flush out the gas completely and re-fill and like you said, "wah-lah" problem fixed.

I am completely puzzled by it. The noise is gone for now but I cannot explain why this has resolved the "buzzing" noise. Would be great if some of the experts in the forum here can give us an explanation. All in damage for gas flush and refile (RM60/-)

Ah, tank34, good to hear Naidu resolved it.

This is the famous "Sounds like snakes in the aircond" noise as described by Naidu.


It is possible that some trapped air bubbles are causing vibrations. The flushing and refill eliminated the bubbles. Just my shot-in-the-dark theory.
