Recently did an over night trip to Penang. Today, something told me to get logged on to rilex.com.my to check for summons. I have copied and pasted the information of my summons as below. ___________________________________________________1 WQR**** S/RIVER(B/PADANG) 1-BBB471*** 21/04/200814:34pm 1. SPEEDING 300.00 300.00 300.00 - 2 WQR**** TAPAH(B/PADANG) 1-ZZ768*** 20/04/200811:41am 1. SPEEDING 300.00 300.00 300.00 - 3 WQR**** KUALA KANGSAR 1-BBB703*** 20/04/200812:07pm 1. SPEEDING 300.00 300.00 300.00 - ___________________________________________________I'm baffled (refer to summons no. 2 & 3) which was on the same day. I got the first one in Tapah at 11:41am and the second one at Kuala Kangsar at 12:07pm. Both instances I didn't see the cops! The distance between Tapah and Kuala Kangsar is approximately 195km. Could I have covered this distance in 26 minutes? If so I should have been driving at speeds of 450km/h!!!! :stupid: Has anyone experienced this before? What should I do?

You can check with them 1st, ask them why .... If not, just go to star press ..

taggnas,

start record all your expenses i.e. mileage, parking, fuel etc. in order for you to settle this matter and claim back from them (PDRM) once you found not guilty. see whether they will pay you or not. if the case prolong, add up some interest i.e. 8% per annum.

it is not about the money, it is about doing things right

p.s. keep us update

Thanks for all your comments!

I am not going to wait for the summons but instead print the information from Rilek and head down to the police station. I know for a fact that they will give me some "cock-talk"!

A few years ago, I had a double summon when travelling south. They issued 2 exact same summons of the same date, same location, same time!! They waived of one of the summons and I only paid RM100.

This time I think we need to teach some simple maths! :)

I will of course keep you all posted. I may even proceed with Strider's suggestions if things get prolonged.

i just came back from penang-kl three days ago... journey took from island to duta tol took 2hours 30minutes. then i think must got some dry meat for me too... if driving 110km/h all the way, i think i will have accident because of too boring or sleepy!! some more still Z5 , M3 , E39 overtook me....

Its not about the time really... they have photo evidence of your speeding, clearly show your face and can see if you holding a mobile phone or didn't put on the seat belt.

They can just say their camera time setting was out that day due do interrupted batteries, they reset the system and over look on synchronizing the time. But can u say the driver's face and car on the photo was a coincidence of same car number, same car model, same car color, same day, same driver look, same bla..bla..bla.. ???

I think they charge RM20 per photo and you can request one for the album or use it as your avatar.. :D

Speaking of speeding ticket, I have one under my belt too...:( unsettled still.. :( My last speeding ticket was in 2004 and it was RM150.. Inflation beb!

That's the cost of flying too low.. and guess what, we still enjoy it.. :p

That's because u fly high enough, >180kph.. :p

I remember those days when we see a listing of out traffic offenses, it has more details like ... "doing 125kph at a 90kph zone"...bla..bla..bla.. at least there was a "score card" now no such infor meh? Or do we need to go to traffic to print out from their system?

bro, logical or not, did you travel on that road on that day and around that time. err. did you speed.

the area shown is only rough indication of the location of the speed trap. The speed trap #1 could be 60 to 70 KM after Tapah and the second speed trap could be 60 to 70 km before kuala kansar.

It just your bad luck that you are caught be 3 speed traps in 2 days.

This is not Criminal Proceedings la. The prosecutor do not need to proof "beyond reasonable doubt" unless the sentence is "DEATH PENALTY".. :D

"Balance of Probability" applies in this case and they even have your photo taken some more, macam mana mau lawan?

The same applies.. and this has more, they not only got a face that look like u, they even capture a similar model car, same number plate, same color, can even see your shirt design.. :p

If you can get away, Lingam is a free man now!

Is it true that there are some GPS units sold here has the function to detect speed traps? Anyone has the experience?

I know detection of speed traps are illegal but I think its disputable if this function is built-in to your GPS units.
