Recently I went for llumar tint based on BMW's recommendation. Later i found that there was a wavy patch on one part of the windscreen. Complained to them yday. They agreed to change it but they said for the bimmer windscreen, there will always be a patch of defect/waviness in view of the curvature of the windscreen. I think its a load of **** but wondering if anyone else has any problem like that

It's truly amusing what new bull crap these guys can come up with. Next thing they'll say is that the tint can't bond well to the windscreen because...it's made of glass.
Name and shame this workshop bro.

RM2900 for that product(VLT 63%), right? I saw the wave form when they did it on one of the car(PJ showroom), but the sweet saleslady said it's ok, it should be gone if you let your car sun bathed for few days(Perhaps preferable with some bikini hot chicks). Umm... Not too sure how true since Llumar claim that they have the "precision" cut on the film, then it should fit nicely, but I'm using V-kool 55 + Elite now.

Got it done at quill. Its been 6 months and the wave was still thr so i insisted on a change last week. Now truly theres anpother small patch of vwave elsewhere. I goona gv it 2 weeks and then complain again if it doesnt go away ...sigh

Do you know where Quill sent your car for tinting? Also which Llumar range tint did u get?

Thx

Mine done at AB, no problem so far after 1 year. I think this is all depending on the workmanship...

I think is Llumar dealer is located at SS2 but they will do it Quill showroom itself.

Yup savid is rite. They did it at the showrooom. NVm i'll gv it 2 weeks to a month and see if the wave goes away on my new tint. My tint is the one with th 4mm security film

Was this the Diamond 6 (6 mm security tint?). I've read of some workmanship issues at their Glenmarie outlet in some forums, but this was a year or so back. Hoping they have improved on the installation/workmanship since then! The Llumar Diamond 6 is an excellent security tint which looks good as well.

didnt have a problem with my e90 last time.. i guess its down to the quality of workmanship.. i did mine at the llumar place in sg besi.. 1.6k for the darkest thing they have..
but my pug had llumar as well and it was done by the dealer prior to collecting the car.. shitty quality.. some place in jln ipoh i think..

thanks for the response. So at least now i know that guy was just trying to get out of replacing my tint

Have just had my E90 refitted with a new set of tints from Apple Auto in Kampung Baiduri. It's a new brand of tint called Camo. The type I chose is not really JPJ approved as it only allows 50% light penetration while JPJ requires minimum 60%. But I like it cause I was looking for something darker but not too dark until it limits my view. And since my interior is beige / brown in color, it doesn't look that dark from the outside.

Total cost was only RM2k... managed to get a discount from the original price of $2.8k. It comes with 7 years warranty. Excellent worksmanship and done pretty well.. 3 hours for the entire car!
