Though it was promised to be ready in 3weeks, it's closer to 1month now.

Progress has been slow but the wait will soon be over!!!

Sanding has been the major work carried out due to poor worksmanship done by previous owner(s). Workshop has been taking extra time to ensure sanding is properly done to eliminate paint peel of previous work before they start fresh coat.

Also bought a "present" to the workshop. while both sides are missing its inner archliner, i'm only able to source 1side here. Another side will be arriving later from overseas.

Some additional items but likely wont be arriving in time for installation. So will be installed by my mechanic after collecting car.

Brings back memories this car... The Red Devil in its hey days & those that drove it too!

24 Jan'13 Goodies

some goodies to replace current to complete the new look prior to car delivery next week :) :)...

Car will be installed with headlamps, indicator lights as well as foglights (all original & new)

Anybody has any idea how to DIY film wrap on headlamps & foglights? Where can i buy those wrappers?

Will also be changing gear oil once car is delivered. Got psycho by supplier shop when collecting the above items.

More goodies on the way from overseas as well but it will be install at later date. Will be sending car for internal wrapping of certain plastic parts to protect them from cracking further as they age. These parts are not available from my long time part sourcing from websites. Hence decided to wrap them up instead.

a friend of mine bought the film at tint shop..cheap one, colorless. looks alright to me

Been watching DIY vids on u-tube, but out of silly curiosity, can hair dryer provide the required heat/temperature for installation?

Otherwise need to purchase heat gun

A decent wattage hair dryer ought to do it. Heat gun will be too much for film, i used guns to install sound insulation material.

Can't wait for your project completion. I rempitted a 16v back in 1992 from KL to Yong Peng. Not many cars costing less than 100k brand new in those days can sustain 200kmh over long distances.

Something is wrong w server s it kept me to login whnevr I wanted to post any reply

Bro mi, road to full completion will take longer time.

For now, repainting done...also upgrading brake sys to bigger ie using gti-6 sys. Caliper also w painter for d colour that I wanted.

Next on likely to source 17" rim to complete this phase.

Once budget allows, wish to rebuilt or upgrade engine, rewire n paint whole engine bay.

However split betwn rebuilt engine (mk1 version w 150-155bhp) or plonk in mk2 engine (167bhp)

Calipers. Front calipers (upgraded) will be installed at later date. For now, will make do with yellow rear calipers.

While paint job is pretty good, i cant say the same for the installation of electrical components. While awaiting to be driven away, engine sounded like motor boat and whole car was vibrating vigorously!!!

Hence decided to head straight to my mechanic for troubleshooting. A konk ignition coil the culprit. Had it replaced.

Besides engine, power windows not working properly and installation of front bumper etc not properly aligned.Though they have tried aligning, i decided not to push any further. Will be addressing all these with my usual mechanic in coming weekend.

I've learnt not any conti/normal mechanics can really dismantle and assemble citroen zx well without breaking clips etc or understand the right mechanism. Coupled with aging plastic clips etc, it's highly advisable to be done only by citroen zx specialists will handle with care. Lesson well learnt!!!

Nonetheless, dearly happy to have lil' devil in new coat!!!

This is just the beginning...

Anybody know of decent shops (with reasonable pricing) to do front bumper & bonnet transparent film wrapping to prevent stone chips? Lil devil is a rather low slung horse that's easily susceptible to stone chips!!!
