Jerky at 1 & 2nd gears

Hi guys,I'm not sure if this is a car problem or just my driving, I find that at lower gears, switching from 3rd to 2nd, and 2nd to 1st, the transmission is never smooth, its kinda jerky. Also from 1st to 2nd, also jerks a bit. I've never experienced this in my older manual Satria car. The 4th to 3rd is smooth, but not from 3rd to 2nd. Any one experience this before?Btw, my ride is a 116i, manual.Thanks

not supposed to, it's supposed to be a short throw gear change and should be smooth. i suggest you bring back the car for inspection.

bro...just want to check with u....when u step on ur clutch pedal and press like 10% of it....is there any Klung Klung sound comes out? mine has this problem....

back to ur question.....emm...last time when i test drove a 116i, i felt like that also on the 1, 2 and 3 gear but the salesman told me it is the way i drive coz have been driving automatic for quite long time......well now i guess its the car actually...

Beejan, no such sound when I step on the clutch, just not so smooth at 1 - 2, and 2 - 1...dunno why...need to send back to workshop liao

Clutch-line: replace and bleed
Should inspect your clutch master and cylinder.

Does double clutch solve your problem (from 1-2) ?
Does rev-matching solve your problem (from 2-1) ?

I have a similar problem on my 116 while in automatic mode... when its down shifting from 3rd to 2nd while slowing down for a red light or speed bump the car jerks forward... nothing major, but I do have to press the brake harder or it seems I'll hit the car in front of me.
On the 1st service (since March) at AB GM they "upgraded the transmission program" - but no change. On the 2nd service they "tuned" something that did reduce the symptom but then the car performed terribly - would not down shift unless I stomped on the gas (at any speed). On the 3rd service (last week) I had them reset back to the factory spec.

Do others have this experience? Is this the way the 116 auto should perform?
