try changing your plug cable ... perhaps there are some loose sparks coming out from the cables " due to cracks " hence causing the jerk ...

well, my spark plug cable is one thing that is crying for replacement but i can't seem to get around to changing them. One of the cables is held by tape, other three are supported by tape hehehehheeh

Pussy, do you think my spark plug is the culprit? Pls confirm, i'll bribe you with TT later.

simple... all e30 m40's came with a torsional vibration absorber after the gearbox before the longshaft... this is to help on the low rpm balance of the engine when nearing stall speeds, this balancer also helps with the low end torque... but this dose not help also with the low jerk, since all rear wheel cars since the datsun 120Y had this problem, low cc and 4 cylinder and also had to to with the gearing of the gearbox,

what i used to do, was to disangage the gear when slowing down, or downshift to the 1st before stoping.. this the way to drive the M40 manual...

here is the picture from realoem.com... item No.3

In other words, it's time to get ride of the "slow mo" motor and get a proper motor in your car.

Thanks Pussy. So, according to you, it is completely normal. Good, can save some $$$

I thought got some special part to replace haha. Isn't this common practice when driving a manual anyway? :p Disengaging gear when it starts to shake/jerk at crawling speeds.

Having said that, I think that part no. 3 is missing on alot of longshafts. I know in US, most of them actually remove it on purpose to make more room for a short shifter.
