Actually it's not easy to break into the car, start without the key and drive off with it. Nowadays what these people do is ambush and wait for you to get your car and they just snatch it off you at knife point. Another way is to tow it away. Like I said, people are very daring these days

You can opt to have your steering removed and lock with padlock, yes, a la Mr Bean. I bet those hi-tech guys who can fool immobilizers and break into keyless-entry rides won't have tools to break padlocks and bring a standby steering to steal your car.
