Whenever i engage the gear to D or to R the rpm drops then stablize again, any idea what could be wrong ? Its kinda annoying cause when the RPM drops the whole car vibrates for a sec, Mine is a M52TUB25 motor. Appreciate any input on this.

Engage to D experience engine die off ? If yes very high chances is camshaft sensor failed.

Bro tweiboon, not no stalling, just the idle drop the whole car vibrates and idle normal back, the symptoms is very obvious when engaging to R. D sometimes it does it.

Clean your Idle Control Valve. Could be sticky due to gunk and build-ups in it.
Cleaned in a month ago, its loose and not sticky

The internal plastic flaps are usually brittle (could have also broken into pieces) over time and guess you need have to replace the whole unit.

Herbert, which plastic flaps, the ICV ? Isn't it fully metal ?

I had my ICV replaced in my e60 recently as it was making noise during idling. The flaps are plastic and not metal. Should the plastic breaks up, the brittle pieces will be sucked into your engine causing serious damages. So better replace it and don't bother to get a used one from chop shop.

M54 ICV are usually metal. Check DISA and the hose for leakage.
Hey Jarance, yea mine is metal. You mean the hose to the ICV and Throttle body ? I replaced a new one the same time i checked the ICV, how do you check the DISA valve ?
