How to get an address from a number plate?

Anybody know how i can get an address from just a persons number plate?some guy bumped me from behind and drove away and i wanna track him down.any clues on how to do this?making a police report wont get me anything.

My colleague had a case whereby a bully was tailgating him. So he drove to the KL traffic police but the bully didnt dare go in. The officer gave him a number for reporting, then after giving the reg. number, he was given the full address & owner name.

btw, pm me the number...I MIGHT have a way to track

bro, cal any JPJ i think they can give the information. Happened to me once and i called JPJ and they gave the persons address

Yes bro explain to them you did the police report and u want to find the owner to settle outside. I have done it before 3 years back. Im not sure whats the procedure now but can give it a try

Last I requested from JPJ was told request needs to be accompanied with a police report and letter apparently.

It's a violation if JPJ can just pass info like that... and it may not be a wise idea to track down the culprit personally as you would have no idea who you're dealing with...

Just be careful.. You never know the type of person you will be dealing with..summore, shooting going here and there nowadays..
