I have noticed some roll calls indicating sports and M sports. Could we have a roll call for M Sports 328i s? Wondering if anyone have problems with their M Adaptive suspension so far?

I got a buddy who has it. the suspension would occasionally freeze when switching between modes.

havent seen him in awhile. will update when i catch him

Bro....spoke to SA @ ABKL you need to wait a while before you change frm comfort mode to sport mode....as sussy needs time to change (eventhough it is electronic)..

But its different between 'waiting a while' and 'freezes up'.

'Waiting a while' still works as the suspension is setting in but 'freezes up' means the system is dead...

I wonder how long will it take for the suspension to change its mode?

I'm interest to know for those who owns 328i M-sport, does your absorber squeaks whenever on uneven road or going over the bump? I spoke to me SC and was told this was "normal". Drove a 320d M-sport with normal M suspension, it definitely felt better and there was no squeak at all.

me too. i had what u have. sound like 20 years old cars with dead absorber on board. this is not normal, this is a shit by bmw that they dont want to responsible for it. i complaint alot of times n their answer is THIS IS A SAFE PRODUCTION. i had search other forum for this complaint but i found nothing. i think alot of ppl is blinded n deaf by the BMW brand name itself. anw i had claim the a new absorber under warranty n it sound the same. i think nothing much can do since only u n me complaint but no one else.

Cyberez, I know others who complaints but got the same answer, it's normal. Even offered to test drive other cars to prove its normal. How do you argue with that?

this mean all their latest series with active absorber setup also got this problem even 7 series but they just dont border to resolved it instead convinced us to accept it. i think only if their sales effected will make them look into it.

Suspension which squeaks and they call that normal? You got to be kidding me, which car squeaks whenever it goes on uneven roads? A car which squeaks certainly has a fault there. Reminds me of my dad's old Nissan Vanatte C22 which has a squeaky leaf suspension!

Anyhow it certainly does pay to get a second opinion, don't simply let the after sales people sway you with their senseless excuses.

New 328i Msport Owner here.... :67: :67:

Got my estoril blue earlier of the month....my first beemer this one (from a VW golf GTI MK6) and the move was great no doubts.

AFter 2k km clocked....(yet to tail happy it at Bukit Tinggi / Genting) but its kinda frustrating to experience these few probs

1) 'Drivetrain Mulfuction warning message pops up - Continue the journey at a moderate speed, Full performance not available. Have problem checked at Service'

Happened while whacking it a lil at North South highway. Was doing around 190km/h and RPM was around 6k when suddently it gave a jerk and the message popped out...car vibrates until i pulled over for gas...restart the engine and everything was back to normal. Couldnt even find the error code as Vehicle Status indicated everything was in order. Whacked it again on Duke Highway (Might as well) and everything seems allright. Called Jln Tun Razak AB service centre and they hooked me up for a check this coming WEd

2) Steering noise from inside the car when turning (some squeaking sound coming from the steering wheel casing - hopefully!)

Now this shouldnt happen on a 300k vehicle isnt it??!

3) Rattling on doors

I could accept in on my VW GTi but i wasnt expecting this on a beemer. :102:

Other than that...am loving every single bits of the car...(hopefully it stays that way or ill just look forward to switch brands if this one fails me

Cheers and happy holidays to all. Selamat Hari Raya to the ones celebrating. Drive safe (even tho ur driving it like its stolen) :71:

Welcome to the forum bro - glad you still love your ride despite the issues.

Case 1 looks to be the same as the others are experiencing here and the solution is to change out some parts but some are still reporting it to happen....

Case 2 with the steering noise is normal...at least for those people working at BMW. No worries as this issue can be solved rather quickly based on my experience.

Case 3 with the rattling doors...haven't gotten that yet haha but I got noise coming from other places in the car and it was solved after a few weeks of troubleshooting.

All in all each car that rolls out from our local BMW factory has an issue or two so it really depends on your luck!

Hi seancorr ....thanks for the feedback... NO 1 Issue didnt happen as todate (been high revving it a lot last night just to see if it pops up again) looks like its more software rather than hardware which its good news. Lets see what are AB's comments this coming wednesday. Another mSport friend of mine told me for item NO 3 he got the SC to install 'body tape' onto his ride and it got rid of the rattling sounds from all doors.

Thanks again for ur reply. Cheers

Hi all....just to share on the updates on my ride (after all complains being given and my car spent a night in AB Jalan Tun Razak)

1) No parts needed to be changed. Just a software update and it shouldnt be happening again

2) Steering was taken out and the internals was lubed - problem solved...no more 'Cheap' sounds

3) Body Tape inserted - apparently the 'clear' appearance tape cost around RM1k per roll brought in via BMW Germany. Tape is not always available so i suggest whoever has this rattling prob get it done during servicing ur ride.

**** I added another complain...squeaking sounds from front (at first i thot it was the suspension) during certain turning angles (can be heard if your driving in the basement carpark with the windows down). They discovered that the steering rack was faulty so they are ordering a brand new one for my ride. Will need at least 2 weeks for the parts to be in (so i collected the car first) and will schedule to get it replaced maybe together with my first service. SA informed that the steering rack will cost RM15k !!! if warranty period has ended.....and he also said that the problem is quite common for F30's...so guys...wind down ur windows and listen for the squeaks...SA was very helpful and polite (luckily...wanted to just flip when i arrived yesterday)

Hi bro thanks for your update...looks like the dealer is doing a fine job for your ride which is good. I too agree that we should claim warranty for any issues since our warranty period is the shortest in the industry.....

Just a quick one...Launch Control is there in the Owners Handbook on the I-Drive...but doesnt seem to work in my ride...anyone tried on theirS? Is it just me or maybe they didnt get the feature installed :hmpf: :hmpf:

hi there,

new owner of 328i m sports here. bought in feb 2015. Experienced the rattling sound on the interior wall panel after 3 days, sent to AB and luckily they managed to eliminate the noise. It was a very distressing noise indeed coming from a RM300k car! Start googling about it after that and dang, the stories are never ending i guess ;).

Second issue, now, on and off i can hear some sound coming from suspension (i think) whenever there is a bump but the sound is not consistent - sometimes its there sometimes it is not.. hopefully it will not persist.

3rd issue would be suspension. Due to it being M sport stiffness is expected but at times i felt like the absorber is not working despite in comfort mode. I wonder whether that's the way the suspension work or whether there is an element of default..sigh..;)
