Help - Can 2012 F10 iDrive connected with iPhone get email and SMS?

Hi - a question to all the experienced owners. Can 2012 F10 iDrive which is paired with iphone 4GS over bluetooth (running latest ios 6.0.1) get email and sms?Dealer has suggested that it cannot with iphone; only possible with Blackberry they claim, but they were not confident in their answer). But some other have said that it should be able to....... but I'm not getting it at the moment. Anything Im missing out?Appreciate input from your experience.regards

Nope, doesn't work on iP4 or iP5. The function works fine on most other phones I've tried including Android.

Well I managed to get SMS working with my 2012 F10 today. I followed the instructions in the F30 forum to enable Office in the Bluetooth setup in iDrive and I managed to get it to work. Though I still haven't got email to work, I will keep trying these few days.

Zaak - I don't think the link info is accurate cos I can get SMS at least.

I read it somewhere online that iPhone with iOS 6 and above will support Bluetooth MAP; which allow users to connect Office SMS and e-mail from the iDrive. Can someone confirm if this is true?

It can be done...go to Vendor Zone and contact Bimmer Coder he did everything on my 535 even things you dont know which your F10 is capable of doing...quite a Nice Guy and his Fees are reasonable IMO

I got my 2010 F10 to receive SMS after upgrade by BimmerCoder but will receive only new messages while connected to my iPhone5. Old messages cannot be read.

OK cool - I must try upgrading my ios. Was avoiding the upgrade because of the Exchange calendar issue, but I understand that is resolved now.

I just did the launch of the new X1 with BMW connected drive.

I am not too sure if the F10 is equipped with Connected Drive, but if it does then just go to App Store and download BMW App.

You can then connect the phone via the normal cable, and from there you can update your FB status, read emails (emails will be read out to you), stream music from all over the world (the feature I love most)!! This only works with Iphone, and we were only using Iphone4, not even 4s or 5.

Thanks. Did the software update and tried with iPhone 5. Sometimes manage to get sms but no luck with email.
