F10 Combox & iphone connected drive

He did not mean 2009/2010... 09/2010 means September 2010 build date. BMW sort of updates their cars every 6 months... in 03 and 09 months.

My F10 is considered an 09/10 configuration. I have combox (6VC), but not the new BMW Apps features. 03/11 has the BMW Apps stuff (6NR), the music player screen is slightly different, for example cover art can be displayed much bigger in the split screen on the right.... see image below.

When I wrote on the bmw Malaysia FB site about the LCD being right biased, they said that bmw is so great, that the engineers hv researched it to be best, etc. And then this? The bmw guys are so hoodwinked by the branding that they are no longer level-headed when commenting. When ppl complain they say this is a public forum therefore take complaints privately, what a big load of nonsense, they forget we hv pride in our cars too and have reached a point of utter frustration with their guys!

Anyway, this is something that they should hv fixed before even first production, very distracting at night esp, when right biased. TQ for the info.

The f10 always had the small panel we have. This big panel is new for 03/11 production and from what ive read only customers who order heads up display gets this full length black panel. Everyone else gets the small one.

Wish I could retrofit it, it's damn nice cos when ignition is off the whole screen is black the numbers disappear.

I agree it is nice, and still think that the design in current form is wrong. Night display is very distractingly right biased. When I had photos to post, the bmw guys just kept quiet. I am still happy, coz it's a dream driving the F10.

I think what you mean is that there's a big contrast difference between the rest of the panel and the black panel LCD? if the contrast blended in a little better you wouldn't really mind that it's at the bottom right.

Just got my car with HUD but no full length black panel? Mine is jan production 528 but was assured by salesman that no difference whatsoever between jan and now? Can u confirm this infomabout production date paultantk?

For Europe, it's from 03/11 onwards, and its a standalone selectable option, must pay more, i think it's 130 Euro or something. It's different from country to country. But what's consistent is 03/11 onwards.

In Malaysia, it could be no difference between Jan and now indeed because they have yet to order a new config with the full length black panel. They are not phasing out the half length one.

When I test drove the f10 535 GT, they had the full black panel. It's nice...and if you have all the loaded features such as lane departure warning and all, it's a big plus...

When I play music from my Iphone's Ipod, it can't read the track information. It says it can't get the info from the bluetooth device. Any solution or it like that?

Track Information is not supported via Bluetooth Audio Streaming, you have to connect it to the USB port in your arm rest storage for it to get a list of tracks and playlists and etc.

Yes I connected the USB to my iphone4.. But I can't set it on random play at drive? Also reselecting track is a pain as it always go back to A.
