The light itself is easy to get in the market but not the control module. I am not sure where to get the module. eBay is a good source for u. Without the module, i think u will have the flickering problem.

would really need your help to upgrade my rear lights.. saw the diy where u need to replace the LCM and the need to re-code.. so much hassle. but i believe it may worth the headache.

im using Ori Hella facelift tail lights without the module. Works like normal except that it strobes everytime....looks cool though...lol.

No error, only flickering when u power on and start the car.

Happen to my fren' car, correct me if i am wrong.

If I'm not mistaken, flickering happens when the load is not there, some will connect a load resister to the connector so simulate some load so that will suppress the flickering.

how frequent does it strobe bro? does any error comes up?

No error. Absolutely clean when comes to Cluster Check Control. Initially when you first start, it will strobe alternately between the left and right CELIS in fast successions. Barely a second in between the succession. This lasts for approx 5 secs.

After that, it will strobe once on each side every 20 secs or so.

Why does it strobe in the first place? Simple...

In actual fact, all your others bulbs (filament type) will undergo a cold check monitored by the LCM. What the LCM does is to check if any bulbs are blown every 20secs or so. But since they're Filament type, it will not be able to light up in a fraction of a second unlike LEDs (digital...think 1s & 0s....nothing in between), therefore you will not be able to see any flickering.

However, when LCM does a cold check on the CELIS, it will flicker and of course, you can see it.

thanks bro.. have done some study and they said this could be prevented via cancelling the cold check monitoring in the LCM.. but currently i want to know how those pre FL models that have the CELIS taillights to make it work without flickering.. do u know how bro?

You already answered your own question. :)

Like you said....disable cold check monitoring. Can be done through BMW Scanner 1.4.0.

Went to New World BM to look for your tail lights and also some other parts, but none available.

I guess you can check for new tail lights from the spare parts dealer and see how much you can get. Should be less than RM 1k for a pair.

going to melaka right after work.. hopefully everything would be fine throughout the journey!..
