Just a stolen forum idea from http://bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2861 and since I'm pretty new to conti specialist workshops, thought it would be good to list out all the workshops receommended by you udm veterans out there and also the dodgy ones. For the sake of political correctness versus freedom of opinion and in case any workshop owners are in this forum, heres a suggestion for this list. Workshop name | Mechanic/Contact | Location | Phone | Price | Expertisewhere Expertise being a rating out of 5 with1 = they f**ked my car not fixed it!!!!5 = can my wife have their babies??and Price being a rating out of 5 with1 = i took a loan to fix that tail pipe and the bank only granted a 50% margin5 = i had to pay him extra or else i would be charged in court for stealingget the ball rolling oh gurus?

I have no idea how's the workshop scene in Msia is like but I do support the idea of a listing of GOOD workshops that we can go to for the shoulder to cry on.hehe As for BAD workshops.....no need to list them lar. GOOD workshops should be verified by at least 3 respectable/advance members before being inducted or listed. Just my humble suggestion. TGIF !!! :yahoo:

Yeah, better NOT to list BAD workshops lest we be accused of defamation! :getyourfactsright:

GUYS,,

THIS ONE WILL REALLY HELP ALL THE NEWBIES IN THE HOUSE......GET IT STARTED ASAP!!! :eek:k:

where Expertise being a rating out of 5 with
1 = they f**ked my car not fixed it!!!!
5 = can my wife have their babies??

and Price being a rating out of 5 with
1 = i took a loan to fix that tail pipe and the bank only granted a 50% margin
5 = i had to pay him extra or else i would be charged in court for stealing

get the ball rolling oh gurus?
Workshop name : Hi Tech Wheels
Mechanic/Contact : Sam
Location : No 17, Jalan Andalas 2, Perusahaan Ringan Andalas, Pekan Senawang, 70450 Senawang, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia.
Phone : 06 - 6779160 or 019-6219122
Price : 4
Expertise : 5.5

mates,

the reason why i put 4 for the pricing is because even though he is reasonable in most areas, the parts he use for your car is only original. this means you have to pay a little more for the original parts. however they might be some other mechanic out there who can supply the parts to you with a cheaper part because it might be original or he is married to the AB owners daughter.

How come Iceman gives 1.5 and Angelicde%$#^* gives 5.5???? :(

That's the same reason why i never support this type of poll or listing, as one guy might 'click' with the said mechanic and the other guy might had a bad experience b4. :(

One man's meat is another man's poison.

Just ignore the 'expertise' rating and continue to name a bad workshop, intelligently. I would like to hear bad experience more than a good one..

As I mentioned just list out the "Approved list of workshop" for the club.

Better we do a series of polls conducted over a period of say 2 weeks. Anything above 50% we put on an approval list.

It will look something like this:
Workshop Name
1) I would recommend this workshop
2) I do NOT recommend this workshop.

Any workshop with approval rating above 50% we list.

i guess having a poll always has its pros and cons... someone may have a bad experience and another may have the opposites... however we can identify how many bad against good...

i think a better way to get club approved workshop will be to list all available workshops 1st then conduct a voting...

my suggestion...

end of the day we all want to have a good reliable workshop with reasonable price...

best if we can buka own one... :yahoo:

Old Klang Road nearby Shell .... i think most of ppl here knows ... quite big shop

Price - 5
Expertise - 1

I ask them to repair the specific things he go n screw up other things n the prob get worst ....

workshop - Old Klang Road nearby Shell...

only scores '1' ? I would give them '5' becoz I've only visited them twice and did only oil/filter and replaced brake rotor, good job!!

So guys, it is really useless to rate a particular workshop's expertise level IMO...

And if you are worried about 'defamation' issue, just name the workshop wisely laa.. Good example would be like Mpowder..:)
