I've had diamondbrite for my last 3 cars, and they don't last very long, max about 2-3 months even with the conserver (monthly application a must). My experience is that personal washings will prolong the shine, and one wash in any carwash (used to to to Carnauba, now wash on my own lots better) will result in permanent paint swirls. Definitely does not prevent the bird dropping wrinkles.
Tempting to glass coat also but read somewhere car paints nowadays no need coating like that lah.All my previous cars never lost their shine even after 5 yrs.Agreed regular washing and not parking everyday under hot sun will prolong the shine.Polish and wax twice a year, thats what i always do,and also on the spot polish when i notice anything need polishing..

did mine with ITISBOND (equine park) http://www.itisbond.com.my/index.html and there's alot of different after i coated the car..they are using nano size Colloidal Silica or Silica Sol (a kind of glass) if i'm not mistaken. The price also is reasonable (they charged me around 999) and they give warranty for 18 months...so now, no need for me to polish the car just wax every 3 month will do and small rock/sand can't give impact to my car paint...personally they are doing a good job because they really care about the cust satisfaction in fact, it took around 11hrs just to coat my car and furthermore they tested it and show it to me.....until now still keep calling me regularly asking about their coat...better do when your car is still new...

If we are to really think about it,a lot of little things that happen to our car like paint chip, dent, swirls notice by us only.Even our wives do not notice them if we don't tell. Thats what suppose to happen to car that is exposed to the elements.I think sometimes we pempered the car needlessly too much..I think we should be wary of any sales pitch.

Totally agreed!!! ...up to us actually....i coated my old car with J Glaze back 5 years and i see the differences...that's why i coated this newborn baby as well but change to diff technology...

I'm also looking around for a paint protection but have some reservations on glass/teflon/silica coatings.

The shine's longevity is one thing but I recall reading somewhere that these coatings make it very tricky when you want to respray one body panel or the entire car. Apparently you have to sand it down to almost bare metal before respraying or the new paint won't adhere properly.

Quite a lot of Peugeot owners swear by Sierra Glow though:

hav set an appointment with sierraglow this weekend.. hope i will give some review on this afterwards:eek:

Did mine with Sierraglow (USJ1).
For e90,price RM750.Took about 6-7 hours depending on your existing paint clearcoating condition.5 years warranty.
Need to book for appointment

After a month, still happy with the results.Water beading,Easy to wash.
Only clean with running water will do.if slightly hard to remove, use a ph neutral car shampoo to assist.
Will monitor and hope to be able to give a long term review

went to SierraGlow last week.. a very satisfied customer in deed..

not sure if the product works the same as optimum opti-coat ...but well here is a thread to share on

http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/foru...ptimum-Opti-Coat-on-Mercedes-Benz-AMG-E-Class

Actually there are many similar products in the market with different brand names, etc. Some would last longer but some are temporary coat. However for Sierra Glow, the work they have done is simply amazing for the price we are paying for. That's why I decided to bring all the cars there, haha.
