http://www.autogeek.net/optimum-opti-coat.htmlThe professional choice for PERMANENT paint protection.
opti-coat-1.jpg
You read it right. Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 is a permanent coating that protects automotive paint over its lifetime! Unlike a wax or sealant, Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 will not wash or wear off. It acts as a second layer of clear coat which provides increased protection against the elements. Formerly only available to professionals, Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 is now available to the public in a more user-friendly formula.Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 is a clear resin coating, much like the clear coat that already exists on your vehicle. And just like your factory clear coat, Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 is meant to be permanent! Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 can be applied to all exterior surfaces. It is not recommended for glass since improper application can affect visibility. For other exterior surfaces, Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 is a highly effective, transparent protective coating.Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 can be applied to:painted surfacesheadlightswheelsplastic trimbumpersaluminum & chrome surfacesOptimum Opti-Coat 2.0 is an additional barrier between the elements and your vehicle's paint. The paint will retain its color and contaminants will be blocked out to keep the paint smooth and clean. Unlike waxes and paint sealants that require frequent reapplication, Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 provides constant, unyielding protection for the life of your vehicle's finish!Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 was modified slightly from the original professional formula. (The pro version is still available under the Opti-Guard name.) Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 cures more slowly, which gives you more time to apply the coating correctly.Because Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 is permanent, the paint finish has to be properly prepared before applying it. Any blemishes or contamination on the paint will be permanently locked in so remove them first! On a properly prepared paint finish, Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 will look clear, smooth, and clean.Note: Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 is not to be confused with other waxes, sealants or nano-coatings, this is different. Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 uses a resin technology that forms a permanent bond to paint and cures, just like an extra layer of clear coat.Once Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 cures, washing is the only maintenance needed to keep your vehicle looking fantastic. The coating can be clayed but it should not be necessary since Opti-Coat 2.0 releases contaminants easily. Use detail sprays as desired to intensify the gloss. You can also use Optimum Poli-Seal by hand or with dual action polisher with a foam finishing pad to clean the paint over time.Say goodbye to waxing! Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 provides permanent paint protection to keep your vehicle looking its best indefinitely!

That an indicator of your speed. :) The opti-guards won't stick almost anything...once apply, washing is super easy..

Applying Opti Coat is fast and easy. There are tons of how-to resource on the web. The hard part is preping your car for it...

so jwah, we dont need to wax or polish at all after doing the opti guard or opti coat?

as for the prepperation...a proper was and wax (to remove the some stains if theres any) would do?

After the coating you don't need to / no necessary to WAX the car again. however recommended to use the easy liquid type wax spray (high gloss one) will do.

thanks Jwah for sharing such a wonderful thread
This is the most talk over coating from USA to Australia, but that doesnt mean bullet proof....the most

there are 2 types of opti coat - Opti coat 1.0 aka opti guard (the professional version) as Opti coat 2.0 pro consumer version (we does retail it) but have not use in any of our detail (work)

The Difference
Opti coat 2.0 (is a pro consumer version) need 12 hours curing, cant apply on glass

where as OPTI COAT is instant curing (within 30 minutes) can be apply on Glass, Windows, Exhaust, Chrome parts, Calipers as high temperature resisting, More resisting chemical after 30 minutes applications. therefore it is only given to qualify and trained detailers.the founder himself would assess our work prior releasing and appointing us as sole distributor in Malaysia.

It is just a part of the whole process..... *10% of the total 90% prep work....*

Above all the most important part of the entire process is maintenance - your weekly car wash.....is done by road side?

look at the many newly delivered bimmers, not even on the road running but plenty of defects

Holograms visible to show it has been polish prior handling to the owner

That's is he reason I reckon every new car buyer must collect their car at noon and check carefully under the sun

Eg another F30 328 we detail last week

Inspire of the owner instruction to BMW dealer "not to wash or wax the car at delivery "

DSCF1931.JPG

Rids swirls and worst of all birds dropping!!!! Which caused along the journey into our land, from shipment and storage yard !!!!! Making it worst the people who handle it

IMG_8712.JPG

Water spots has stains/damage the entire car paint and all glasses only to show it has been kept at open air and neglected !!! Therefore a quick polish would be the remedy but in the wrong hands is vey damaging ! Of such in the 4th picture shown the holograms (improper way of handling the paint correction ) and now become a threat

I just restore a Balboni with Seech for almost 24 hours of correction

i do encourage you to try but bear in mind this is permanent coating, it can only be removed by wet sanding or multiper compound (how then do you gauge how much to removed) I got a friend who did 5 coating test on his e90 bimmer ended up repainting the entire car

We get a lot of people trying to fix their own dents which in turn makes more work for the body shop professional but allows them to also charge more for the repair. Opti-Coat is designed to create work for pros, not take it away and it will do just that.

There are thousands of leaf blowers and mowers sold every year but not everyone who buys them is planning on starting a lawn care business nor has it seemed to hurt the professional lawn care field.

while an informed enthusiast may apply the 2.0 him or herself the area of paint correction may be another story, the sad thing is this

BUT.......
we've organised tons of clinic in training car onwers or enthusiast equiping them the skill to do it
DSCF5594.JPG

infact this sat both me and seech will be conducting an intense class for paint corrections and coating....

we conducted and exposed to more thousand enthusiast and even show you our secrets of how to do (empowering you to coat your own car

it is easier to remove if you use Alien Clean as is has the (opti coat 1.0 professional aka opti-guards ) strength to resist

you only need Alien Clean dilute 1:3 water wash it off

by the way my E34 is not coated at all but still effortless to maintain http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/showthread.php?49413-How-to-keep-your-white-bimmer-white

Short answer is no. Opticoat is not a remover, it is a sealant which means that when they prep it prior to application, they'd have to remove the stains.

If you're asking whether insect will still splat on the car, YES. Is it easier to remove, marginally. I still have to use the Power Cleaner liquid to soak and remove insect stains.

I did the Opti-Guard, which is better than Opti-coat 2.0. Damage RM1800.00

Who did you get to do the Opti Guard for you?

What other services/work done as part of the RM1800?

I think it depends on the condition of your car paintwork. Washing definitely to remove surface dirt. If got scratches or swirls then more work to remove.

How is Opti Guard better than Opti Coat 2? Stronger?

How is Optimum Coating compared to gtechniqs'?

Mr.KC,

I have been expecting your appointment since my collection of car last June, when would you be free to drop me a call?
