Hi all... Anyone experienced before the below scenario? My ride is e46 2002. When car is idling, the air con performs well. Its cool air coming out from all air con vents. But when car runs for about 20 min, it's warm air coming out from the air con vents ( especially the centre air vent ) , while the air flow sometimes decreased. I had changed a refurbished air con compressor last year. It's kind of weird scenario because normally if air con had any problem, It will get cool air when running but not idling, or totally no cool air if there is any leaking of gas ( from my driving experience of other cars )The above scenario is with the same air con settings. Need experts and sifu help on this before going to mechanic, else I will be chopped with changing the air con compressor or other unnecessary items. Thank you very much.

1. what is the aircon temperature now?
2. Air Vent on auto or you have select the centre button on the left side of the panel?
3. what is your outside temperature?
4. Is your aircon on Recirculation Mode, Auto or light is off?
5. Is the passenger side cooler from the driver side for the centre vent?

on the same subject of Air Cond, any good shop to send the car to check my car air cond problem, i m staying in Sri Damansara, if possible tell the address oso,, have recently change its magnetic coil..works ok, but now was told it is the cooling coil..oh gosh...don't know what next..tks

u got AUC heating problem?

Encountered same scenario before. And for my case...it produce bad smell somemore everytime after i turn on my aircond. Solved it after replace cooling coil.

Bro can share where you change your cooling coil and how much?

Likely the air mixing flap has gone and is allowing hot air from your heater element (heated by engine coolant) to pass through.
Cheapest option is to look around online for methods how to disable your heater by sealing off the coolant hose to the heater. More expensive option, and to keep your car's heater system working, is to have an AC specialist check the mixing flap.
You can also hook up to a BMW scanner to see if it has identified any problems with the flap's motor or not.

Is your coil leaking? Why change when you can clean it?

Just like your house aircon, they spray chemical and wash the cooling fins.

Yeap its leaking but very slowly - at least that's what the mech said when he checked for leaks. Top up gas twice already and lasted about 3 weeks or so on both occassions.

yes, there is a leak somewhere. I remember one time the aircon guy use a special flame to detect the leak. The colour changes when it detect the gas. No sure they use this same method nowadays.

I presume they may dismantle the cooling coil and do a pressure test like they do with a leaking tyres.
