May I know anyone here have prob with the aircon compressor?? What's the 'syndrome' pls?? Im suspecting my beemer's compressor has broken as there is noise frm the engine bay whenever i turn on the aircon. The air is still cold but juz kinda annoying with the fan blowing noise...something like ngok..ngok...

any idea other than compressor prob?!!

E46 is not like the e32,34,36.cannot bypass the heater valve like old model,E46 need to use the heater to control the air cond temp.I just service my E46 318 1.9 air cond by a former AB aircond technician,he told me about this.I also a machanic,but I dont do air-cond myself.

That should be the blower's problem. My friend fixed a similar problem at Naidu's.

Got the same problem a couple days back. Went to BM World, Desa Pandan. Replaced the evaporator temperature sensor (RM100) and aircond blower resistor (RM 370). Labor was another RM85. Aircond was fine after that.

mange to resolve my problem earlier, by removing the heater valve.. and only cost me RM30! superb cool.. recently my air con lost coldness.. there's a funny smell coming out from the air con, i though it's because of the gas. So i went top up the gas.. it goes OK for bout a day before it lost coldness & the funny smell. The air con fella said, there must be a leaking.. checked the engine bay.. no leaking.. compressor OK! what could possibly be the problem. Any bro here faced this matter before?

The air con fella said, need to take out dashboard & check the cooling coil. I'm pretty sure my cooling coil OK! because if i top up the gas it's good as before.. but there's a major leak somewhere.. So i didn't leave my car there because it's not my usual workshop & some more he quote me 3k!!..

Please advice.. need to get it done b4 CNY.

my prob is almost the same , rarely sometimes the air becomes warm for a few minutes and it brings out bad smell,, like rotting egg,, i went to a.cond. specialist,same he ask to leave for a few days,cost about 2-3k,and i refuse,, but my foreman said the airconditioner needs service,,thats all,,im confused and so unsure,, just waiting for the worse to come,,
anyone with this kind of experience plz share the solutions

I just experience my aircond not blowing cool air, b4 it happen I realize my de-mister (speeling check) was on automatically. I was thinking that's the prob but even when i off it still no cool air. FYI, my temp sensor is not functioning, constantly at -40c,

Could it be the reason? Any sifus precious advise.........

one side hot, and if its smelly, then coil koyak.
i fixed mine (E39) in ipoh for 900+, coil that is.

Folks, I'm reading in this thread a lot of e46 aircond problem, can you share what standard maintenance or service we should do to our car?
My ride is an CBU Japan Spec E46 1.9, no problems but just preventive measures...

mine leaking now....pump in gas lasted only 3 days thn fully gone....they pump in some UV liquid detect the leaking area...not anywhere at engine bay..it leak sumwhere inside dashboard.....shit...

they guy said nid to leave the car for few days for them to verify...hopefully is just leaking..narthing more thn tht...

wah..manyak expensive leh..me did it in ipoh around rm1600...900+ for the ori cooling coil..the rest are ....condenser la and etc...several things...

ac now champion!
rm1500 for:-
1. new cooling coil
2. new receiver dryer/preassure switch
3. new expansion valve
4. vacuum top up compressor oil/gas
5. 1 set of O ring
6. full aircond service
7. labour charger to remove and fix (open up dashboard)
8. 1 year full warranty.

ready within 5 hrs time.

job well done.

any knows a shop that is in Klang?
cause Ah Meng told me my cooling coil leaking....

but the AC still cold but a little deteriorated but maybe cause the afternoon weather also hot.... dunno but i want to get it checked and fixed if something is wrong....
