Guys,The missus complains that the rear air con doesn't blow as strongly as the front ones. Is that normal and should I complain to my SC? Plus there doesn't seem to be any controls to adjust fan speed for rear air con vents.

The vent for the back is kinda small and the air flow is generally weaker - nothing can change that.

However, the main vent pairs in the center console is not reserved for the front passenger/driver - if missus feels things are a lil hot at the back, few things to do:-

1. redirect the main pair vents outlet to the back passengers;
2. up the overall main fan speed
3. open up the vent control for the back (there is one)
4. make sure the dials next to the air fan controls (or vents) are showing blue (instead of red)
5. all of the above

cheers

Thanks AT-Sixx.

Have been doing that but she's been comparing to her Exora Bold (which I find is an unfair comparison) and commenting on how such an expensive car is not as cold as her MPV. Not really apple to apple. :p

Welcome Bro

Well, you are right - imo its certainly not an apple to apple comparison, I happen to think that for Proton including Japanese makes - they have better air conditioning prowess ! Relative to my all my previous vehicles all Japs - their air conditioning is great - quick to cool and quite silent. My F30, aiyo, takes relatively longer to cool - and when full blast - bunyi macam ade tornado !

Besides, MPV & sedan aircon outflow rates different i think - more evenly distributed between front and rear sections for MPV.

Cheerz

Just sharing, I also thought the rear a/c vent air flow in the f30 is quite sad. It's so weak and does not seem to increase the flow despite upping the fan speed. At least my passengers cannot complain the car does not have rear a/c vent in a car at this price range.

The rear aircon vents in a 3er have always been passive, like the e90. The current f30 is no different in that the air coming out is blown from the blower up front. It doesn't have a separate rear fan/ blower for rear passengers like what you may have in MPVs or SUVs. You have to "learn" to optimise airflow using the various settings in the car if you have frequent rear passengers ;)
