..hi guys..yesterday, while i was refueling my vehicle, guy who works on gas station (we already sort of buddies, since im always refueling there), told me that fuel (97) going up to 3.1 RM/liter, next month (june)..so i wanted to know, is there any confirmation of this?? I guess fella from gas station should know, so if that is true, i guess its a matter of time when 95 going up, anyway, im just wondering is there any confirmation for this ?? I mean official one?? What is G's scheme of raising prices anyway??

Ron 95 - Subsidised
Ron 97 - Floated to and adjusted to market price every 6 months

There's no confirmation anywhere, you will know the night its gonna happen. Guy at the pump wouldnt know anything, its top government official decision. When Pak lah increased from RM1.70 to RM2.80 last year, even some menteri also dont know beforehand.

But as a matter of observation, the government hasn't missed increasing RM97 price for 5 months since December 2010.

Its been reviewed on a monthly basis for the last 5 month (up only!).

Government already announce that they cannot afford the Ron95 at the current price and told us to brace ourselves for the next price hike. Its all over the news since the last week or so. Last year's total subsidy was 10 billion for all the subsidy (petrol, sugar, etc), this year is set to be RM20 billion, 18 billion for the fuel subsidy only.

I stand corrected :)

..then why not cut down enormous import tax on vehicles and brought it on to world scale and then play with fuel prices like everybody does ??

Perhaps because providing a stable fuel price at the pump in a world of volatile fuel markets keeps my teh tarik below RM2 :). I'd take cheap teh tarik over cheap cars any day.

In anyways, I'm out of this topic as it can get heated. Ciao!

All these kisah2 yg terlampau, only in Bolehland.

No confirmation on 97 but stated in news saying 95 likely (not ascertained) going up by 20 sen in June :) They, the Cabinet will claim, it's STILL the cheapest in the region.. Gosh! with GST in the pipeline & power hike, it's simply wonderful, inflation rate will sky rocket...

they cannot reduce car taxes, govt will lose one of d major sources of rev. sigh RM3.10 for gas. i gotta get a tune for ron95

Heads they win, tails you lose. It has always been like that.

The question on everyone's mind is where does all the revenue from Petronas goes to?

Read this, why does the federal government wants to bail out private companies and delved into a state matter?

that's why when i see got vip coming with polis escort, i take my time moving out of the way, and later tailgating the convoy. since i'm paying thru my @55 for rtax on a 20 yr old junk, i better enjoy some priviledges.

so far it's worked great, although i suspect one time, one of the back riders send me a saman for speeding. hhahaha......

With them subsidising the IPPs and now bailing out the Water Companies to RM6.5 BILLION...we're royally screwed... that amount could've been used for the alleged subsidies... anyways, its all silap mata werk ler.... frus everytime they increase...its getting ridiculous....
