my ride 1996 318i m43, 15" BBS RX, 205/60/15with the latest increase in fuel price, just want to know whether my ride is doing well or else in FC?ron95, RM 50short distance/city driving = 200-250kmhighway (constant 120-140kmh) = 300-350km50% highway, 50% federal road at 120kmh = 370kmhow bout yours??? any comment..

Of course, the city figure is low for me because I live in a hilly area and love to cruise on gear 1

it seem there is not much difference btw us.. hopefully our ride is OK then

but of cos there r many factors that affect our FC ie d way we drive n accelerate, loading, size of rims n tyres etc

in terms of lit/100km = 7.7 - 13 lit/100km (short distance) and 7 - 8.7 lit/100km (long distance/highway)

for diesel engine 320d register at around 6.6 - 7.1 lit/100km

even our M43 r more economical than wira or waja auto in FC especially for long distance

so our UDM = Sheer Driving Pleasure...:top::top::top:

Haha yes, my engine running a little bit rich due to faulty air sensor But otherwise I get better economy last time...

on highway to maintain up to 120-140 our foot almost always on da pedal..

on federal road especially for long distance at 120 our foot not constantly push da pedal..

part of it just rely on momentum of da car due to corner etc = saving in FC

Are you got problem ? Constant at highway mileage less than 50% highway + 50% federal road ?

for me, all highway driving give me more km compare to federal road. i'm running 328. maybe its different with 318.

OMG!!! It means our UDM (me and stig) are more economical or at par with KANCIL 850 & KELISA in FC! Even Stig also register about the same figure with me in FC! Thanks for the new info bro... b4 this i only know my UDM more economical than wira & waja auto.:top:

How come u compare m43 with kancil 850 & kelisa???? By saying so it means that u think kelisa use less fuel than m43 if constantly driven at 120-140 on highway & 120 on federal road? Any kancil 850 & kelisa owners can respond for it??? Then we will know how their FC at high speed...hehehe :106:

For the time being very happy with FC & performance, ron95 rm50 constant 120-140 at highway = 300-350km is normal, but managed to achieved 370km at 120 (50% highway 50% federal road for long distance) :top:

My ride in standard stock only, except for P&P bosch platinum iridium 4 electrodes spark plug, UR front & rear stabilizer bar + H1R oil & fuel treatment + fuel injector cleaner + shell 95

But for me among the main factors here is to maintain using 15” BBS rims (original rim size for m43). My cousin who used 18” rims (original BMW not replica one) on his UDM (e36 318 m43 ‘99) experienced a ‘nightmare’ in FC!! The difference was up to 100km & the performance was so bad esp at hilly area!! Now he also replaced it with 15” BBS. Even my younger brother (e36 318 m43 ‘97) also did the same bcoz previously he used 17” e46 msport rims.

Now our UDM are at par btw each others in FC! What identical is all of us r using 15” BBS RX which r too cheap now bcoz no demand for it already & appearance not too bad laa for BBS..

My car is not hybrid, but only e36 318 m43 ’96 owned since ’07.......hehehehehehe x percaya ah ????? :3:

Bro, unless you're driving an auto and purely city driving, something is very suspect. My manual 325 could easily get 550km with 30/70 mix.

also check/clean Airflow sensor and pre-cat O2 sensors. These 2 items cause higher fuel consumption.

my 318i M43 sedut RM50 of RON95 for aprox. 200km.
last week i was fuelling rm50 from shah alam to balakong.n mundar mandir at bandar baru bangi,then got back to shah alam.still have a bit,my wife use it ulang alik kerja for 3 days..duh if M43 equip wit vanos kan bes...haha

yeh almost the same here ...but then during some spirited drive that rm50 is just nothing compared to the sheer sound out from the 6 potter ...

long gone were the 4 potter but infact i'm gettting almost the same fuel consumption when compared the days running on my 4 potter ....could be due to the tweeks i'm running on the 4 potter inorder to acheive slightly above the 200KM/h mark
