Fault Msg (E60)

It has been a frustrating week for me as I am simply getting Fault Msg one after the other on my idrive and my idrive at times reboot by itself. Had it Reset a couple of time but it still pop up. Finally I went to M1 PJ and Jeffrey suggested to change my battery as the current battery reading was 11.99V. So, i manage to contact Auto Bavaria Segambut and was offered an original BMW battery at RM 1,050. (wonder if that was a good price).Anyway all problem solved after changing to a new battery.

Ouch! I had a problem with my iDrive too but not as bad as yours a few weeks ago. Went to a specialist at USJ19 and they told me that my battery is too small. It was one of those you use in Toyota, NS40 or something like that. Previous owner such a cheapskate lol. I changed it to DIN88L and all the problem is gone. I paid 500 for mine, can get cheaper outside but he also reset all the fault gratis.

Keep an eye on the alternator too, check what the charging and starting volts.

hi bro,i was new for this forum n using 525d since 8 mth only.i just get it 2nd ma.i just change my new battery to din88 mf atlas at battery dealer shop.after i change i seen error msg pop up showing my window symbol,streering not active ,abs.i bring my car to ingress n be inform to me that the battery not registed,so i ask them to register it.even after the register my idrive still showing the same msg.plz help me.is it i need to change to originnal bmw bat or look for other specilist to settle my problem

I was told by the SC that E60 battery is from AMG. Its very different. Aftermarkets cannot cope with it.
I have tried changing once with aftermarkets. Everything gone haywire.
Better stick to original. Cost way much more, but doesnt seem to have a choice.

hi to all.my car still at bmw servive centre,no news yet abt my car .i thnik there change to new bat but before there change the bmw centre inform that i can use my bat once there set n i test drive it the problem start again.i dont know to whom i need to angry now.there inform new problem to me now telling my car need to change the plug couse the power is not that good

Kana, the service center cut your throat, the normal price for alternator including labor is around RM800
