Hi guys, I know this might be discussed before. I am having a difficult time to choose what tint to go on my F30.So many brand out there and every sales person will say they are the best. lolz ^^Should i go for security film or not? Should I go for the heat rejection? My car is Alpine white and what brand color match the best?Afraid of non Smarttag frenly too. I am looking at few choices1) VKool Elite for front. Side + Rear Armorcoat2) VKool 40 All round (not JPJ compliance)3) Raytech front and rear 2mil. side security film any other suggestions?thanks in advance.

If smart tag is priority stay away from 3M. It's so good at cutting down heat that it cuts off 99.9% of infrared, which unfortunately is what our old smart tag uses to detect the gate remotely. If you keep the battery fresh and push hard against the 3M tinted windscreen it will work ok. Most popular brands I would say behave more or less the same in terms of heat rejection especially if you leave the tinted car baked under the sun for more than 30 mins. It's gonna be baking hot for sure. Nothing special but I know Huper Optik is tag friendly. Having said that I like 3M even if it's not tag friendly.

I' on 3M Crystalline 40 all around. No problem with smart tag, just cannot dash into the lane, need to drive slowly for it to detect. Great heat rejection though

im on 3m crystalline 40 used it on both cars.. both of them are not smart tag frenly.. but the heat rejection is SUPERB...

I'm on Vkool Elite front & rear, Windowshield 50 on sides for some protection. Car cools pretty quickly parked under the sun, and it's legal, no complaints.

Hi everybody, I am Window Film consultant for Raytech International Window Film. You can called me, "Lord Gitsy". We are also one of the BMW Club merchant. I will post more accurate information to all consumer from time to time. Please visit my link, or like us in Raytech Window Film facebook for more information.

Firstly for your knowledge, Raytech window film already develop the best quality of film in term of solar control and safety performance in Malaysia, better than other USA brand product, Raytech do not buy film from any supplier locally, as well as oversea or taking master franchise from any USA film brand. We custom made and develop our own films from USA manufacturer with the film specification we request. That's make us different from other brand and Raytech is the first Malaysia window film company to expand our business distribution network internationally.

Please allow me to explain more about this company to you. Raytech Window Film is established in Malaysia as a local brand on 2004. After few years of experience, we realize that we have been cheated and the products that we are taking from local suppliers are not original films from USA and the problems such as orange peel effect, bubbles and discoloration start to appear after a mere period of 1-2 years.

Early 2007, we thought of acquiring a master franchise from USA window film brands such as Johnson, Global or Suntek into Malaysia. However, we gave up this idea after realizing the original films from these USA brands are not suitable for Malaysia market use. Only darker color films from these brands have better solar control performance, but it is not compliant with JPJ regulations.

Eventually, Raytech collaborated with Commonwealth Laminating and Coating, Inc. Martinsville Virginia USA to specially develop a series of products for Raytech . Thus, Raytech films specification are customly made in term of solar control performance, film color, VLT, thickness, Low-E etc to compete with other window film brand in Malaysia as well as worldwide. Besides, Raytech products made from direct factory come with original brand packaging and logo on the films itself. After 3 years of cooperation, Raytech Window Film is listed in the manufacturer's official website as their direct factory business partner.

I would recommend using RhinePro security tint. Its not that well-known cause of minimal marketing. It's some kind of nanotech film so its non-metallic and non-ceramic (no issues with smart tag, gps, phone signal etc.) Definitely can zoom past smart tag (just dont hit the tiang lol). Price is considerably cheaper than the other tints out there. 15 yrs warranty + RM 500 windows/windshield coverage. No BS excuse if u ever need to re-tint.

I did all my cars in uptown, msg me if u want the contact.

Btw, 60% TSER.

I've got 3M on my 5, and practically dash through the smart tag lane, just make sure the tag is located near the rear view mirror, where there is a dot perforated material..

Hi Guys,

I'm using V-kool Elite. It came free with the car (AB, Glenmarie). I was told it could cost me RM2800... I like it since i used the same for my other car.
I'm using the new Smartag (size like a cigarette box) bought at KL Sentral and it works just fine without the need to roll down the windows. ( i just put the smarttag on top of the dashboard)

Hi all,

I've installed 3M Nano 40S for my side windows and Crystalline 60 on my front & rear screens and yes it does affect the smart tag only if you fully cover the front screen and that includes the black dots at the top. The 3M distro that I installed from did not tint the black dot area at the top where the rain sensor is and that's where I use my smart tag and it goes through smoothly only when you slow down your car at the lane. Other than that...really good tint.

hi there,,newbies here..i was told by the salesman at AB glenmarie..void the warranty if install the tinted with other than their given voucher.isit true?

Zulsaturn, my original preference was 3M crystalline 40, but AB Pg was not approved, so I go for Llumar 40 instead. If your dealer accept 3M, I shall recommend 3M Crystaline 40. Mine is Llumar 40 which costs me RM3.3K
