I heard the tehnichi 320 demo car, its really good, great clarity for mids and highs but a bit lacking for bass.

The setup was only a change in speakers and tuning. for that bundle they promo it at around 5k

To add an amp and sub , another 5K. If you go for the full setup at 10K, it sounds awesome ...

Planning to do my 528 when i get it early july

Been thinking of sending my e39 to them for sometime now. Till then just listen to whatever my speakers decide to dish out.

soo how much it cost you bro ? mind if u can share it?

Sure Satrian3! My total damage (check back on my statement) is RM5165. I lost my receipt for the full breakdown. Here's what I remember.
Focal K2 Power (Need to doublecheck on my car if it was 165 KR2 or 165 KR) - 2mids, 2tweeter, 2crossovers - RM1800
AudioControl LCQ1 - RM1500
Alpine 2ch Amp (PDX series) 2nd hand unit - RM800

These are the major components that I can remember the prices. The rest are for the labour, cables, fuses and such. These parts I think depends on how much you willing to spend on the cables.
They have a few types to choose from, I couldn't remember which one I choose but I was told it's a mid-range priced.
I think the problem with 320d/320i is these cars soundsystem are directly connected to headunits. So you will need to spend a bit more money on the cables if you're adding amps and processors.
The 328i/335i have the cables connected straight up to the factory amp at the boot (opposite side of the battery). I think with these cars you have less cables to pull if you want to add amps and processors.
Not sure if I'm right with these though. :) Just saw a leaked technical data on F30 electronics diagram, so I just presume it is so from those technical guide.

i wonder if BMW actually have the original wires in the car for the amp for the 320i and d as well.... then would be easier to plug and play.... dunno where to put the amp if i wanna upgrade....

im also considering an upgrade on sound.
any idea whats the difference between German Maestro CS4008 and EV4008?

seems like mainly difference in tweeter depth.
anyone can cfm if CS4008 can fit F30?

heard from those dealers ev4008 is clearer and one level higher.

i'm going for ev4008 also and adding an active sub to compliment to ev component.

Can anyone pm me the details of tenichi audio? Can seems to find their details online. Thanks

Got it.. Apparently wrong spelling up there.. Maybe bcoz of forum rules...I'm not sure.. Newbie

m-sports, just wondering what do you mean by 2 way active setup? Sorry still quite noob with car audio. :)
Does it mean 2 active amps driving the speakers separately? I first wanted to trade in my 2ch amp for a 4ch. which will then drive the front-mids and subs. Are you suggesting that I should try instead leaving the 2ch amp to drive my subs and the 4ch to drive the front and rear mids? I think that should fully utilised my 6ch LCQ-1 right? Thanks bro in advance!

You can try going to KF Audio in Aman Suria. Look for Mr.Siemen Liew, the owner. He'll generally be very happy to consult you on what you can do with your budget.
I don't think the real issues are with the Focal or German Maestro speakers. The main fault kinda lies within the headunit itself. I was told that BMW basic headunit generally produces clean signal but weak. Hence the recommendation of the amp.
I wanted to spent on changing my rear speakers to those mids+tweeter type. But he asked me not to waste money on those and spend it on an amp instead.
That's because generally I mostly drive alone or with my soon-to-be wife. Also, I only listen to music louder when I'm alone. So there's not much need for me to drive the rear speakers much. Mr.Liew said my front units are more than enough to satisfy the listeners at the back too if I have. Then again...I guess it's individual preference. I generally am very very happy with his suggestion. He's good at turning cheap speakers sounds good. LOL. That's what I was told when a few friends recommended me that shop few years back. My F30 is the second car he did for me.

soo ho much u have spend bro for your amp....since i also wanted to do so.....

Bro Satrian3, the amp I got was an Alpine PDX series. It's a second hand unit and well taken care of. Got it for RM800. :)

Hey guys, someone from this forum sent me a PM regarding the audio system I installed. But when I wanted to reply it seems that the message in my PM inbox is not there.
I only deleted the email notification on my email, I don't recall deleting any PM on my forum inbox. Anyway, to the guy/girl that PMed me. Do send me your PM again! Sorry for the inconvenience! :)

Yes I tend to agree that the 320i sound system is bad, it is worse than my previous Vios. The audio is overall very thin, the bass is not strong enough, mid is so muddy and the high is totally flat... Is there settings that I might miss out aside from the Tone settings?

Utterly disappointed with this crappy sound systems after paying so much for the car. Tweeter sound and Bass are probably on par with Produa Viva or Proton Kelisa grade. Agreed with someone said, it is even MUCH WORST THAN VIOS and my former Altis.
