Hi All,

Just collected my F30 Sports LCI about a month+ ago and wanted to get some feedback on some simple mods I plan to do with my car. Appreciate your comments!

1.) Change to M Bodykit : Saw many ads about this using Taiwan PP material, has anyone tried this? Kind to share your experience? Any good shops to recommend in PJ area? Will it cause any issue with warranty?

2.) Change to 18" rims: Planning to swap to 18" rim & regular tyres once the original RFTs run out. Where can I do a space saver spare tyre mod and is the 400M rims good? :)

3.) Lastly, I found it severely lacking that BMW doesn't include reverse camera at least as optional in this day and age. I did contacted Eurotuner shop which replied me that it can fit my model which is the 6.5" screen type. Has anyone tried this on this model?

Thanks guys for your comments! Cheers :77:

In my humble opinion;

1. Basically if cost is a concern then that's your only option. I'd say go ahead and Taiwan PP material should be pretty alright but can't expect 100%. I've never used one before but I would go for it too (if my car is non M sport).

2. Buy a tyre repair kit so it saves you the weight & space. If you prefer a physical donut then yes, go for the spare tyre kit.

3. Forget about Eurotuner, they charge you unreasonably and you can get the same product @ RM 1.7K only. Call this number and say Alvin recommend:
016-254 0699
Sky Zone Car Performance
Sunway Mas Commercial CTR, PJ

Hi Thanks for the reply,

1.) Yup, i guess the most important thing is the paintwork to match the ori color. Any good shops to recommend?

2.) Tyre Repair Kit -> Can the tyre be reused after? Else my pref would be the donut. Any idea how the donut will be placed in the boot?

3.) Will check them out, most importantly a plug and play to the existing system.

Merry Xmas! :santaclaus: :santaclaus:

1. There's a place called Utmost Garage in Puchong. Apparently, they claim their Taiwan AN bodykit gives extremely good fit and similar to original. I think they charge around RM 4,500 for a whole M3 kit fully painted. The M3 kit looks a lot sharper and better too.

2. Tyre repair kit will inject some sort of chemical foam into the tyre and you can continue using the tyre. Alternatively, you can remove the tyre and patch it back.

3. All these kits today are already plug & play. Technically, you don't need to slice & splice any wires and all you need to do is plug in the harness.

Merry Christmas to you too!

Update:

Item 3 done last week - Plug and Play style!! :D :p ...damn almost a year ago i posted now only got time to do!!! Merry Xmas 2017 guys...

3) May I asked which shop you went to and how much you paid for the reverse camera?

Thanks

- u can contact his shop in Puchong call Utmost Downforce. Their kit fitment are perfect!

- usually does this at Sunway Hup Shun

I have a 2014 Pre-LCI F30 320i Sport Line which originally came with 17" Style 392 wheels. Wanted to change to the M-Sport body kit early on but at the end did not do so. I wanted to go for the original body kit as BMW was having a promo, but for me it would not have been the same and was just not worth it. The factory fitted M-Sport F30 cost around MYR20k more only. That comes not just with the body kit, but with the M-Sport steering and trim, the Style 400M rims with staggered RFTs, M-Sport suspension which is 10mm lower, giving it the overall attractive M-Sport athletic poise. Just putting on the M-Sport body kit without changing to 10mm lower suspension and without changing the wheels and tyres won't give exactly the same exterior aesthetics as the factory fitted M-Sport. Piecing the original M-Sport accessories together will cost more than MYR20k..

Come Feb 2018, slightly more than 3 years have passed where my tyres need changing. I decided to change to 18 inchers. Was contemplating ditching the RFTs. Economically it made sense and I have always found the stock Bridgestone RFTs abit too harsh and noisy. However, after some research, seems like newer RFTs are better and less noiser due to improved RFT technology. From a maintenance perspective and tyre emergency perspective, the RFTs gives better peace of mind - purely my opinion. As such, decided to stick with RFTs.

After shopping around, managed to find a used original Style 400M rims and went with staggered Continental CSC5 tyres. I love how the minor change in just the wheels and tyres transformed the aesthetics. Loving the look of my ride now.. Love the tyres too.. It is quieter and smoother with good grip!
