wou...sound like a good idea for a petrol fuel commercial.....imagine, a super sports car approaching quickly from distance, and when the car meet the camera point, it cuts directly into the engine inner view, where it is shown hundred of maids cleaning the engine while it is running....this is going to be a massive hit commercial, hey don't steal my idea ok, cheers.

no wonder, I pumped yesterday and thought I pumped wrong petrol/diesel ! lol yeah 2.55 over 2.30 now ~

Just went to see the BMW production plant in Kulim last Friday with the club.

Saw they are filling every new cars with 20liters of Ron95 petrol, and we asked the German in charge of the plant do we need to fill these new cars with Ron97? And he said no need whatsoever and he doesnt see the point of filling one with Ron97. Wont make a difference. So....

I just filled my 328 with RON97 and have to agree it doesn't really make much difference..

Maybe wait for the next tankful?

When I crossed from 95 to 97, I did notice that my engine was slightly quieter when starting and idling, but DID NOT notice any improvement in power. Fuel consumption actually deteriorated!

However, on my 2nd and 3rd tankfuls of 97, mileage has actually gone back to normal. My butt dyno still can't detect any perceived extra boost, but I do definitely enjoy a smoother drive.

The problem is, I'm not sure if these perceived benefits are worth the additional cost! :stupid:

there you go... thats my point!

Lol maybe you need the Shell V-Power Racing fuel which is sold in certain stations to feel the boost. I pump 97 not for power but to keep the engine clean. My parents place has 4 other cars which has been running 95 for years and with the new Caltex/Chevron fuel cleaner viola, better power, idling and top speed is restored.

The 97 fuel is supposed to act as a fuel cleaner too so if you pump it regularly then a fuel cleaner is not needed.

Yeah for most stock cars, you won't feel the difference especially using butt dyno.

On a standard dynojet machine, you will see small gains of around 5-8ps of additional power. On the graph its very minimal.

For those who remapped/tune their cars, the Ron97 makes a lot of sense.

Just realised the video I posted above is not the one I intended to post, it was supposed to be this one,
