I sent my car to Ingress for checking last week and I asked for the update on my e90 LCI 2009. For 2011 map, they are charging RM1800.
pheww...

im still thinking whether should i go for it or not.

yes, i have bluetooth in my car. why? can garmin connect to my bluetooth and then output the navigation through my audio?

Just asking :) so i think my new 325i should come with bluetooth also right? Or is it optional? I'm using iPhone so is there any iPhone kit? I dunno Garmin have bluetooth function or not. My Garmin doesn't have bluetooth.

It should have Bluetooth ready for your system. just configure your iphone to communicate with your bmw and then you can just use as usual. no need iphone kit.

I'll give it a try it it doesn't cost much to update to 2011 map. The system is crap but not completely useless. So how to obtain a bootlegged copy?

yeah, how to get a copy of DVDs to update CIC for BMW LCIs?
nevermind, i'll buy it from the dealer.

You would pay RM1800 for an update if that's what it costs? Guess you'll continue to find faults even when you have the latest map.

Like many suggested, I'd rather get a Garmin and use custom maps.

I personally haven't tested iPhone navigation via bluetooth to the speakers of the car. If it works... this have just solved my issue of outdated map in my iDrive. Would be good if I can update the map for my iDrive (LCI model) for the year 2011 version.

Have anyone updated their map yet? A review on it would be good.

At least I'm still thinking whether should I take out my RM1800 to Ingress for the update.. hmmm... too expensive i think

Which apps you use for iPhone navigation ? What about if I use Viber via bluetooth? Will it works? Anyway, tomorrow I will test it all and report here :p

i have tried to connect iphone to my car via bluetooth. I have used tomtom and papago for the navigation. whenever the voice instruction given, the sound output is from the phone which is not loud enough. im not sure whether you can output the sound via in-car audio if you use the iphonekit.

Hmm.. thats interesting... i saw my workshop boss sold a copy of 2010 dvd to me collegue the other day and it works!! only few hundred bucks only

Damn.. my new 325i map is not updated one also! And when using bluetooth to receive calls , the voice have distortion problem.. anyone encounter this before?

Nope. My bluetooth reception quite clear. What phone u using? I normally connect using my Samsung i8910 HD.

i dont have any problem with my phone connecting to my car's bluetooth. I have tried Nokia, Sony Ericsson, and Iphone. All seems fine

I use a BB Bold to connect to my 2010 323i ...works perfectly .
