hi...ada sapa2 sini boleh bantu tak masalah saya. my car is e90 2007 320i. milage dlm 100k. minyak hitam selalu kurang. tak sampai sebulan kena top up. apakah masalah yang sebenarnya. pelik sngt la selalu kena topup minyak hitam. ada sapa2 bole bantu? bole cadangkan workshop mana bole selesaikan masalah tersebut. saya tinggal di PJ area. sapa2 bole tolong sila sms or call sy 0163892423 rynn. Thanks

2 possibilities:

1) Leak (oil filter cap, valve cover gasket, vacuum pump seal)

2) Valve seals

already check at workshop there is no leaking....
maybe valve seals kot or any others possibility?

its just a flaw in the valve seals. A forummer her changed his on his e46 n42 engine..cost around 1.4k. I believe the N46 should cost the same too as the engine is similar.

IMHO :)

Mine also same year same model. No leak noticeable from under car i.e. no oil stains. Turned out to be engine valve cover. Did mine at MSpeed, my regular mech for 5 years already.

Most probably it is a valve seal. Check if there any white smoke when left the car idle for 10-15 mins.

Can be oil sensor problem. Do not top up too many times, you may end up flooding the engine. On your next oil change, try to measure the drained oil volume.

you can try to go workshop and make enquiries. last month my friend e90 had the same case. not leaking anywhere but just the valve seal already wear and tear. he saw it after the worlshop guy remove it from his engine. it is due to the hole that holds the valve is getting bigger and bigger thats why is draining ur enigne oil. he got it done at m speed auto service usj. not bad workmanship too.

Any idea on the damage to the wallet?

Got an estimate quote for valve seal job from M speed around 4K. It will take them 4 days to complete the job

For E90 N42 engine, once you got the valve seal issues done up, some workshop recommend to change the CCV or oil separator too.

Spotting valve seals failure is not that difficult. morning start will give white smoke because oil from cylinder head slowly seep into valve seat area and collect enough to cause white smoke the next morning.

Thats worrying. I dont have any white smoke.

My car 06 325i was inspected at AB early Dec. Previous owner topped up engine oil during inspection.

Its now about 1 month and > 1000km later. Checked engine oil level and its 2/3 down. 1/3 b4 next top up. Need to keep an eye on this.

Car is due for oil change soon. I"ll change the oil when the top up lights come up next and then monitor it. Hopefully i dont have this problem.

Otherwise its open heart surgery time for the engine.

Valve seals and oil separator have to be changed together. try thicker engine oil. Mine also showing some signs and still monitoring the engine level. My car is 2009.
