I wonder if there are any plans to bring in the 4 pot diesel. Seems to be getting rave reviews overseas. Perhaps that will solve the power issue.
yes, the 320d is the one to go for, and also the 120d. The Hartge 120d has almost 200bhp available, and of course lots of torque.

BTW though, since Hartge is here...do they offer minor mod for the E90 320i to increase the BHP from 150 to 170?

did they do for the E46 318i the last time?

But then again, if all you want is refinement, comfort and brand cachet (in Malaysia), go for a Mercedes C class! At least that stradles the comfort/performance compromise must better (in my opinion), in the sense that it does not falsely portray itself as anything but a upper class motor used for the conveyance of wealthier Malaysians.

Unlike BMW.

"Sheer driving pleasure".

"Ultimate Driving Machine".

2 litres, 4 pots, 150hp, in something that weighs 1.5 tons. Right.

Who are they kidding?

Edit; yes, BMW does have amazing engine technology that's been brought to the masses, but one disadvantage of such is the inability to mod the car. So, you're stuck with what you've got, I'm afraid.
HA HA HA HA...!

You said it, The Necessary....

2 litres, 4 pots, 150 hp, 1.5 tons.....

'ultimate driving machine' is indeed stretching it...

you are paying mostly for the roundel badge, the government duty and the euro...

to get anything decent, you gotta fork out an arm and a leg...

Damn, If I had an E90 320i, I wouldn't give a toss about kids buzzing me in Vtecs, evos, etc. I know there's not much power, but who bloody cares, unlike the C-class, its a brand new new prestige car.

Bro, if you want kicks, etc. why not get another set of wheels (like the breathtaking KOOKABURRA ) for thrashing>

From Spaceman's postings, its unlikely the E90 320i can provide longer term satisfaction...heh... Yes at least a 325i for the fella.

btw, I really like the new Merc C class ads on TV, about if only you could start life old and get younger...

mazda atenza 2.3 liter is damn nice. make sure u test drive it before getting ur bimmer.

well, rx8 has a 'wow' factor but its not shall i say an executive car nor the atenza. bimmer will always have the glamor exec feeling to it even how old the model is. that why i choose a bimmer, the 320i sucks by the way and if u dont want to be the latest i might suggest an e46. trust me u cant get the best of all world even with a 400k budget, i have look. i also kinda unsatisfied with my 325i, that way gonna mod it intensive with AC stuffs.

naza that day was selling a 330i pearl orange with m3 bodykit, 18" rims and orangle leather plus sunroof for rm285k. but its a 2002 stock new cbu unit. then u can smoke more cars if u want to and retain the budget, glamour and the horsepower that you need.

the choice is in your hands. :eek:k:

E90 320i is way underpowered. I was pushing to the max and did not feel anything. No adrenalin rush no excitement nada. In fact the car has grown quite a bit actually. Perhaps the 325i and the 330i will present a different response but the prices are stratospheric high. I guess I am not willing to part 300k for a 3 series no matter how nice or attractive it is.

There is a blurring distinction between Contis and Nip cars. I can safely say Nip cars are catching up rapidly and in some cases I find the Contis are moving downward trend due to costs pressure and etc... The hyundais are slowly replacing the Japanese of the past.

Get the final batch of the E46 and save some sensible $$$. Car prices in Malaysia is hitting the roof. Get the 325i or maybe even the 330i since AB will be throwing discounts in the next couple of months. So it will be deal of the century for E46 potential buyers.

AB has finish all of thier e46 stocks, i already ask. only the coupe and cabrio version remains. so only way is from grey importers.

Good point about the Nips catching up (technically at least). I'd love to try the new Crown.

Sheessshh 4 pots 2lit valvetronic of courselah nothing exciting. Go and try driving a 6 pot 2lit then only u know what is like.

He he... And, I will be one of those buzzing you in your BRAND NEW PRESTIGE CAR in my ol clunker... see how long you can tahan.... ha ha....

The bloody thing bounces around bends like a queen-sized Springaire mattress!!!

First thing i'd do, throw away the standard springs and shocks made from cotton, and put in a set of proper suspension...

The Kelisa feels nippier and more exciting...

and a LOT cheaper...

would love to reconsider the E46 325i, but what would the re-sale value be in 5-6 years time? 50% off the purchase price or 60% off the E90 325i?
but i think resale value shouldnt be good as ppl would go for E90 325i in 5 yrs time coz the E46 is one generation down...right!

New car 20% Depreciate for the first year follow by 10% each year. So it doesn't mean whether u r getting the new model or the X model.

after a certain period of time, your instalments would be somewhat the same if you take on a new car..might be smart idea for some to replace their existing car for a new & not lost out on more depreciation..but the whole debt cycles continue...

Spaceman,

if u buy e90 to avoid the lower resale value of e46 in 5-6 years' time because the e46 is one generation down from e90....

what do you think the e90 will be in that time? One generation down from whatever next 3-series bmw will have introduced by then...!

all cars within this category depreciate...

there will always be a new model in 4-5 years time...

so, the question really is... which car can you enjoy for the next 4-5 years where the tco is within your budget...

Spaceman has got a E90 325i now, 218hp.. This is a 2005 thread bro! .. :4:
