E60 Bluetooth problem

Hi all, my mum's 523i 2008 LCI is having difficulties connecting to smartphones like note 5 and iPhone 5s... Tried to connect through the Idrive interface, but both note 5 and iPhone 5s can't seem to detect the idrive Bluetooth even its in pairing mode... And I'm suspecting it's caused by firmware being outdated?

Try This - go to settings - turn of Bluetooth.

Then force reset idrive by pressing Mute Button and Eject Key for both the CD and DVD.

Then once it is rebooted - then go to settings reactivate the Bluetooth.

Just got the chance to try it out, phone still can't detect Bluetooth from car...
