Thanks for the info bro but what sort of engineering shop we talking about? ... It's important to find shops that can do the pressing perfectly on the 1st try cos if you pressed it wrongly or the bushings is 'senget' while pressing taking it out again and pressing it in again will most probably result in tearing out the bush. I know cos it happen to me

Do you have any shops to recommend?

Did you buy just the bushings or does it come with the housing/bracket? If bushings only where did you had the bushings pressed?

sorry bro for late reply ... i bought only the bush .. M3 bush cost me RM85 per piece. No need to buy the bracket if the old bracket still ok. The place i went got machine to press the old one and replace with new. FYI .. the cost to press both lower arm bush + labour + alignment = RM150. You need to do alignment when changing the lower arm bush.

Sorry for the late reply bro coz just notice your thread
Those engineering workshop got their lathe machine will do, rdg the position of the bush sitting either your mechanic or the engineering wshop mechanic will make a marking of your existing bush position when there remove it. So there just follow bck your marking to refit your new bush.

Bro if u are in Sban i can recommend u some workshop but if u are in KL just go to WP Auto (Albert) there and i believe they will do 4u. Hope this info can help u.

Correct me pls if i'm wrong :

The ball joint was fix tgter wiv the lower arm, so must change the whole lower arm. Only the bush u can change seperatly. I just bought 1pc of (FL) lower arm cost me RM325 And 2pcs of bush RM85/pc for my E46

I need to change my lower arm bush. Please PM me where u get it? Thanks a million.

Sorry to all sifus here. A bit out of topic. Now, when going thru small pebbles roads my UDM got this knocking sound (klok-klok-klok-klok-klok) from the front suspension. driving at high speed and going over bump no such sound. Its the lower arm bush rite?

gremmeny .. its hard to tell which one .. could be lower arm bush or it can also be the lower arm itself. those are two different component. better go to workshop, put it on a jack and let the mechanic inspect in detail.

Mine has similar annoying sound when going over road bump or uneven road. Ended up changing the 2 lower arms and tie rod link. Thereafter sound gone. Let your mechanic check which arm, bush or ball joint is worn out. They are wear and tear items.

Hi all expert, just would like to confirm with you guys. I hear ppl said that auto transmission oil for 328i (Year 2000) is design for lifetime use. i also found it stated in owner manual. can anyone advise?

eventhough the transmission oil is for lifetime use but some people think that it is good to change. i myself don't believe that the transmission fluid will actually last that long. at some point it needs to be replaced. probly every 30K. up to you. anyway that is my own opinion

*done at cathay auto city kulim, except for fr wheel bearing and fr brake pad.

* yesterday evening car can't start, mech supv sent his mech to my house, check: fuel pump faulty.
* today still waiting for mech to come to my house install a new fuel pump, mech supv just call and charge $550 for the pump and labour.

*is there anyone from northern (kedah/penang) can recommend other w/shop??

my cost for the day,
1.fan belt , power steering belt and labor charges ( rm 45 ) = rm 422.
next is the tensioner , to be done next week , followed by carbon fibre of all the door panels and the front driver and console panel and the gear box lining , will post some of those pics soon when they're done

Just change my throttle cable (accelerator ) M52 engine, oil separator unit and oil seal for differential, engine feel smoother and more pickup power, all together RM 1100

hi Alexx, how is ur UDM ? must be enjoy living with it right ? me last week i change to GAB soft hard / high low absorber for RM 2800. actually i went to the mech for differential seal leakage, then the mech told me that my car kinda heavy and suggest me to change the oil separator and throttle cable and he assure will increase pick up and feel lighter. he did told me back to last december to change but i kiv first since spend much money that time. after changed that 2 things, it really made so much different.

how was you software update, any improvement ?
