E46 Part and Service Cost II

The car just came out from Customs last week. Bring it to Milan Motor at Tmn Sg Besi doing a check up today.

1. 2pcs control arm bushing - Rm380
2. Oil level sensor - Rm240

Labour Rm80

Total cost Rm700.

Next change might be:

Expansion tank + labour - Rm550
Radiator - Rm4000 :banghead:

Aku baru takar radiator before raya, cost me only RM 850 include labour (radiator only lah)

My car at workshop now for TOP overhaul cause oil leaking and spark plug jammed. Better becareful when sent your car for service. as afraid the foreman tight the plug until jammed. And at the same time Oil Cooler kaput and water already mixed with ATF Oil become Teh Ais color. Total cost not sure yet. Syntom for Oil Cooler issue is the display for Gear just on and off..sometime on sometimes just gone...lastly will get Save mode and Transmission error. that's mean S and the Transmission Icon.

Anyone can recommend me for this : I need to change lower arm, but it is the teflon/silicon tpye already, not the original. How much will it cost ?

:burnout: Yeah, you are right, Herbet. I know certain parts charged by my mech are more expensive than others. Just want the convenience of getting them done all at once at the same place. Don't really mind the extra costs incurred. Plus, alot of those parts were replaced upon my request. Even decided to use a new cylinder head (specifically for an E60) instead of a used one from a potong kereta.

Initially, was thinking of going to get some done at Albert's, but apparently he moved to another location in Pandan Mewah and I couldn't find the new place.

Hahaa.. don't be scared. Mine's an old, consistently abused 2001 325. Most of the stuff replaced are not a 'must' but more just for a preventive maintenance basis only. I normally do that for most of my old ladies when the time comes (if I can afford it). Plus, it's high time for me to re-vitalize the old lady. Actually, the price charged by my mech is 20-40% higher than norm, and I'm ok with it due to their 'acceptable' service and its near where I stay.

Anyway, the good old UDM feel is definitely back now.

Its really alot. I remember changing the oil filter gasket for only RM38 at an authorized dealer...RM68 is wel beyond. You sure u want to continue burning your pocket unnecessarily? Perhaps there's alternative near where you stay?

Yeah, I've to Albert's old place once, and he's good. However, it's in Ampang which is quite far from my home (my missus would nag about going to a place further than necessary as she is driving an e46 too). If there is an alternative in Cheras itself, it'll be excellent.
