E46 Engine oil light on

Help needed. What's the issue if there's engine oil light on at times? Despite checking the engine oil dipstick at times the light will still on. Best workshop for BMW in JB area preferred if I have to get it check.Thanks.

CEL lights came on because the DME detects something is not right in the engine dept and it can be many things. The only way to find out is through a diagnostic machine such as GT1, Autologics and etc only then one knows whats going on ... Intermittent CEL can be your 02 sensors going kaput, could be engine thermostat and so on ...

better check immediately.....if oil sensor kaput is ok....
but i've experience once, (my japs car)
check on the dip stick the oil level is ok...later check on, the internal oil filter (dunno part name)
got stuck.luckily there's no major prob for me but the mech told that if i just ignored the
warning light i might ended with burning crankshaft, rod, etc etc....

Bro which engine lite u are talking abt, is it the one tea pot symbl! mine also same initial start it will ang off less then 1 min
But i have oil leak dont know which oil?
anyone can share their xperience or advice,thanks in advance.
