Advice needed on E46

hi there,I just bought a E46 (2002 facelift ) recently, would appreciate if anyone can advise me on the followings:1. The Engine Oil indicator lights up about 10 seconds and then goes off, whenever i start the engine. When i check the engine oil level, it is correct. Any advise on this?2. Occasionally, while driving, the airbags indicator lights up for less than a minute and then goes off. Thinking off sending the car for a check after the festive holiday....thanks in advance.

yeap, i thought of sending back to them. but sometimes u wouldn't know what will they (the dealer) do to your car (especially after sale). thus, i dun mind paying the right person to fix the problem, as long as i'm convinced.

just found out there are sign of leakage underneath (engine oil) due to worn off fuel injector. i'm sure some of you may have come across this problem, what is the cost of fixing it ? and how to prevent it from happening again (at least for the next couple of years)?

i was told this is one of the very common 'deceases' that 9 out of 10 UDM have the same problem.

For the oil leakage, how much does it cost to fix the fuel injector and have the valve gaskets changed (at Ah Meng's plc)?

Though MSpeed is quite a distance from where i stay and work, but my instinct tells me that i must pay them my first visit some day soon...

If I were you, I will send all these problems back to the dealer and get him to at least acknowledge and agree to absorb the cost of repair.

Yes, my opinion is also to send it back to the dealer to get the problems resolved under their cost since you just got the car from them recently

+1 to 'em wise men who has already spoken..

Alternatively, you can bring the car to Ah Meng's, get it diagnosed, ask for a cost estimate and then bring your car back to the dealer and have them absorb the cost (or at least, partially) That way, you'll know what you want to bargain for rather then guessing a cost

trax, I've no idea how much those cost. My line of work does not require me to change / purchase fuel injectors and valve gaskets Please look through some of the older threads under services or repairs made by forummers.

Did your airbag indicator still on and off during driving.

For my car E46 320 2.0 Jap spec the airbag indicator will on after putting the ignitition key into accecories mode and I still can start the engine and then the airbag indicator will still on during driving and when I restart the engine same thing happen.

yeap, i did sent my car back to the dealer's workshop for repair, and they fixed the problem for me, except for wear and tear parts (as usual)

However, i will definitely goin to visit ah meng soon...by the way, how much does ah meng charge for a diagnose?

Just wanna share some experience to all UDM owners wannabe:

While negotiating the price for the car, I actually requested for a 6-month warranty against 3 major parts: engine oil, transmission and aircond compressor.
The dealer should be able to offer the warranty if they are confident with the car. If they refuse, there is a high chance that you are goin to get a problematic car.

Make all requests before placing deposit. Most dealers will not entertain your request after they take your $

Ask for written confirmation for the warranty offered.

A specialist told me that this is due to the malfuction of the airbag sensor. cost of repair is yet to ascertained.

However, my friend changed his engine oil sensor for RM350 including labour in OKR.

Any sifu can advise?

Brother Trax, I have erase my airbag error code using Launch Diagnose system
and the airbag indicator now is now off, done it at RS motorsport USJ.
