I have my own diagnostic tool. but i still don,t have other DME to test. I'm still struggling to get my BM to started.

BTW do you know what dose it mean by ;
"NO CAN ID, DME 1"

which diagnostic tool are you using? Not familiar with the error message.

Not necessary so. Using the BMW scanner, the livedate for EWS will show you whether you can or cannot start the car.

There is also a menu to adapt or sync the EWS with the DME. I personally have not try this function
but it look like it can be done.

If just only EWS not match with your key i can gao dim for u ......................hehehehehehehhe

If the car does not start accompanied with DSC tell tale sign and transmission sign most probably its the crank angle sensor and cam sensor.. Common problem with the n42 engine. Cam sensor = car does not start crank sensor = engine cuts out and refuses to start. Will start after 20 mins..
