e34 cannot start... HELP...!!

Shite.... now my SLOTH kena pulak but different symptoms....

Can crank, catches but engine dies after 2 seconds.

Disconnected the MAF and can crank, engine catches, engine does not die but of course the idling is rough (because got no MAF control). However, this time round, I also get the occasional backfire which did not happen in the past.

Got another MAF unit, nada, same problem.

Any suggestions? Because I now cannot drive my car to my regular mech. Hope my ECU has not been fried....

Intending to borrow a diagnostic to trace the fault tonight. :beaten:

What the heck, might as well convert the whole shebang to 2.5L. :D

added a relay and voila...fixed.starts everytime.cost - rm95/.
seems to be a common problem for old e34s and many e30s(mine included).

U added a relay to where?? The Ignition cables?? The starter??

go to any wayar man...say mau taruk lelay satu untuk starter...sure kawtim wan.

if you're in subang jaya,there is a shop located 4 doors away from the previous honda corner show room near section 15 me thinks and also quite near the new bav auto in SJ

this so happens because the wiring is old man..losing resistance therefore when the engine bay is hot..even worst..have to wait for the wires to cool abit..if this is the problem..either change all the wiring or just add relay..i've poste a picture on how the relay looks like in one of my posting..do a search or find all post by dvng..

thnx for the additional insight of the problem, now we know the problem, and the possible solutions.....

thankfully now my car is ok.... but will still do up a relay for the starter.....

last question, does it mean any type of relay installed by accesories shops, or do we still need to get BMW "specialists" to do it?? sorry as i not techie buff...

I am farked. Got another MAF to test. Installed it. Erased any error codes with diagnostic tool. Started car and immediately got a bang and misfire. Saw a flash and smoke coming out from the intake manifold area. Dare not start again. Damn....

Any sifus know what is wrong? Need to get my car drivable to a mech. If not, kena tarik.

Looks like an engine transplant is a better bet for me.... :( :beaten: :nyehehe: :nyehehe:
