Fist timer to this club , own a 1989 525i 12V BMW. looking to upgrade to another 5 series. Any recommendation ?. What year was the last E39 rolled out in Malaysia, someone has a Yr 2005 for sale. Any idea of the price ?

In Malaysia, the last batch of the E39 rolled out in 2003 and replaced by the E60 in 2004. Depends on your budget, you could get the M54 engine, 520i (2.2 litre) for about RM 105-115k (Year 2002-2003) or the 525i for RM 120-130k (Year 2002-2003)

check out this months issue of Motortrader...there are a couple of 520's and 523's there going for less than 100k...didnt realise e39's dropping so quickly in terms of price...gosh...

Thanks to the 78 cents gas hike in June, models above 2000cc saw huge drop in price. Bought my 525i in May, prices was average 105k for '00 models, 115k for '01 and 125k for '02s.... after the hike, upper-mid 80ks for '00 models. now probably lower, don't even bother to check, "menyayat hati".... *sob*

before buying please check the VIN number and put in the last 7 digit on www.realoem.com to determine the model year ... before getting my e46 I almost bought a gorgeous M-Sport E39 with 30k km but it's a 2001 model ... on the ad it says 2003 so be careful
