E39 Instrument Cluster Diode Display

Model : 1997 CBU 523iA couple of diode's in the diode-display of the instrument cluster has died.Can the diode-display be changed ? if so how much ?If not what are the options (eg. whole instrument cluster replacement , etc) and how much ?Appreciate your feedback/comments.

I am guessing your speedometer cluster right? Normally these are replacement diods/bulbs. you can diy. The bulb cost is not that expansive, i think less that RM6 or so... can't remember. Surf internet for graphical instructions. I think there are a couple of sites that has step by step DIY instruction.

If your tranny changes cluster died out, better replace the light and light channels. Cost is around RM180~ RM200. Can DIY but becare when popping it out the panel out.

its the display at the bottom of the cluster...like a lcd display....
the diode's have died...similar to dead pixels ..
