320i e90 LCD panel on instrument cluster gone.

All bros. My friend's 2009 320i e90 instrument cluster lcd panel has just gone blank. The one that shows gear position milleage etc.

Any idea which workshop can fix this? The ones he went to wants to change the entire cluster for rm4k. Kind of overkill since all the needles and lights are still working fine.

try to plug in OBD2 diagnostics 1st
not worth changing the rm4k meter just because of the gear indicator

Thanks for your reply. Diagnostic is not showing any error. So it looks like the problem is isolated to the LCD panel itself.

The LCD is similar to the LCD on a calculator or old black/white mobile phone.

I'm wondering if any workshop does change the LCD. We saw some companies in the UK that are able to fix it, but would require the cluster to be sent overseas.
