Issue not solved yet bro.......beast is taking a break away from the busy highway. Just checked your PM....thanks!

Hope you can solved the prob...

After more than a month, after exploring with various mechanics / workshops finally I see light :top:

events which turned my ride up side down ............
  • a/c compressor died because pusher fan failed
  • changed compressor and pusher fan - happy with cool air for 3 months
  • after one week changing the above , noticed the pusher fan was completely at high speed even on the very first start in the morning
  • took back to TnT Sunway but unfortunately by the time I reached there - natural wind cooled off the condenser and pusher fan speed was low
  • having to take Tan's word that all if fine - a/c broke down one fine morning
  • Naidu did first diagnosis and said all sensors ok, suggested could be the control panel.
  • One good soul from this forum swapped his control panel with mine still no luck - my unit worked well on his car.
  • Brought to Optimum, Jason advised he does not do a/c issues but forwarded me to another guy @ TTDI. This person ripped my control panel front face incorrectly and said it was already like that .....:stupid:I was so pissed and drove home.:102:
  • Siva@e39 help to intro Brian (TTDI). He forward me to another place in Kota Damansara, where his comp was detecting evaporator sensor + pressure switch fault pusher fan fault = RM380
  • Changed evaporator sensor + pressure switch fault = compressor clutch did not engage either. All other fuses - relays are ok.
  • He plugged the comp once more and this time it says fault with climate control panel. Car was here for 1 week now.
  • Waited there for 5 hours and the chop shop guy brought a faulty unit..........what a day!
  • Contacted back the good soul from this forum - swapped back the control panel unit from his car....praying real hard.....:63:..but did not work either.....my unit works in his car.
  • Did more research on the net and could not find why nothing is working.....
  • Finally I found the long lost number - ex Auto Bavarian M5 trained who now runs his own workshop
  • He intro me to a wire man. After one week I received a call from him..He cleared the pusher fan error - walla ........clutch engaged but not for long.
  • Went around today looking for 3pin pusher fan = RM380
  • Plugged in and the moment I was waiting for ......coooolllll air ....aaaaaaaaaaaa........
  • However we noticed the symptom again....with first cold start the fan is spinning ready for take off......
  • He told me if the fan continues to function like this, it will die soon = failing a/c compressor / clutch
  • Left it there for him to check on any other sensor which did not trigger fault code before the working fan was installed, just incase the comp was not able to pick it up earlier as there might not be signal flow.
So far what I read from the net is "pusher fan will kick start when a/c clutch engages.....but did not find anything pointing to failure of a/c clutch = non functional pusher fan. I could be wrong. So let's see what happend by next week. Missing my black beast!

Anyone knows if comp diagnosis would be able to give ECU error code?

and the fairy tale continues ................
:burnout:

Thank you Bro Siva@E39 / 525i & Volvo525 for all your help and guidance!!

bro, I can't recall the name - shop location is Coming from Damansara Utama , One Utama traffic light turn right, keep straight (pass standard chartered) road going uphill, T junction traffic light turn left, there is a food court on the right opposite apartments. The shop is inside that food court area, there is also a car wash there. Personally I am not happy cause this person did not have the correct tools instead used a mini screw driver which is used for instrument cluster screws and forced open from the top - which was completely incorrect. The clip holding the control unit is at the center of both sides. I was lucky that none of the plastic surrounding clips did not break. Also when he checked the wired to the pusher fan, there were big cuts exposing copper wires badly - no black tape was applied after that.

I personally would not return to this shop.
When I informed Jason , he asked me to come back to his shop and he was willing to help me fix it.
TRUE CHAMP , AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE from JASON!

Hi Doc, thanks for the tips. My issue was a little different I guess. There were a few items faulty. I am in a conclusion that a/c clutch will not engage if your pusher fan has 100% failed (no electric signal at all). In youtube there is a video of bad pusher fan - the fan still moves but not in full circles. In this situation it still sends signal to ECU and allows clutch to engage. Now I need to source fix for high speed pusher fan issue on cold start. Not sure which sensor are related to measure engine / condenser temperature.
cheers mate.

Today the issue is FIXED, in bold below
  • a/c compressor died because pusher fan failed
  • changed compressor and pusher fan - happy with cool air for 3 months
  • after one week changing the above , noticed the pusher fan was completely at high speed even on the very first start in the morning

  • After reading the forum Friday night on pusher fan immediate high speed on cold start - it was pointing to temperature sensor.
  • Saturday morning went to BA Subang got one unit = RM53
  • Went to the workshop , the BOSS man said got other cars to do.
  • Eager to get my baby home, I swapped the unit myself and plugged in the pusher fan...speed was back to normal.
Brought my baby home at last ..........
Will need to give her a good SPA treatment after close to 2 months in various workshops.

Good bro tb to hear that you finally solved your ac issues...

Where is the temperature sensor located ?

I have a question, my aircon smells bad... I have changed th3 cabin filter located at engine bay, still the same.. any sifu here got any solutions or any workshop can recommend that is familiar with e39 aircon systems?

Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Hi bro...think it this way....just go to any denso air cond shop no need to go to bmw air cond shop just bcoz drive a bmw bro...
Mine 2weeks ago got it done at denso service cntre seri gombak now cool like alaska huhu

aku ada stereng lori dan bas......kau ada....

Aiyo yo...."khaduvelai" just when I thought the whole world has freezed to chillness a new problem popped up!
Now I only get air from the front vents and rear center vents. No air on the front windscreen and the legs. Even selecting the air distribution manually does not work.
Anyone faced this issue? Internet says a/c actuate .........:smokin:
