hello, my mechs said that i have to beware of my engine that will 'rosak'. the engine sound very roughly. it's worthy to change of my engine or just overhaul the engine? what is the cost of overhaul engine?who has opinion? thanks... B)
 
just change the engine!!

titoqe,it all depends on how bad the engine condition is.

if its minor stuff,thn just get it replaced....

but if its a major thing thn do as mnk and pussy suggests....M50!!!

pop by for tt 2mrw nite at SHOWRU CAFE...its in kelana jaya,nxt to the MAS training centre.
we r there from 9pm onwards.

here u will meet many sesoned e30 owners and u can ask thm to check out ur ride and get their opinoin on whts wrong...

Answer depends on a number of things.... are you happy with the performance of your current engine? What would be the cost to change the engine vs. overhauling/fixing it?

In my opinion if you are happy with the performance, why dont you just overhaul/fix it. My guess is that depending on what you have done (top overhaul or full rebuild) changing the engine may be the more expensive option.

I dont think you should be put off by high mileages. An overhaul etc. that is properly done (and with good care) your engine should enjoy a new lease of life and should last another few years after that..... barring any unforseen circumstances of course.

Another thing to bear in mind is that changing the engine may not necessarily buy peace of mind as the replacement engine itself is an unknown quantity. Overhauling your own engine in this case may be preferable.

However if the answer to the first question was NO..... then changing (to a bigger capacity) engine may be the only solution worth going for.
