Done MAF conversion on E30M20B25i

Did the conversion together with my mechanic :yahoo: and haven't fine tune the engine yet..but..muahahahaa...!!! can feel the refinement aledi. still abit sluggish la..A Big Thank You to..Magicfox...for being there for me... B) financially advising me.. sorry nak tambah sikit lagi. i penah supercharged my e34 using toyota crown supercharger.power very good for roughly 3000rm spent, but must drive like cole tricle all the time..bini komplen kete terhenjut-henjut...but i memang suka henjut pun hw he

well the stock E30 afm (m20 engines) have a restrictive flap that lets the air in.
The MAF conversion eliminates the flap, and with proper tuning, you can make decent power gains.

I did this to my e30 long time ago - using the split second kit (they use a ford mustang MAF)

I made some decent gains using their kit.

thanks franklin. my e30 still use contct point loo.. want to change to motronic they said not worth it, better to change engine. can you tell me where you did your maf conv. may be i drop by to check it out. henjut means two things here.. one is to floor the car and the other one the missus will endure it... he he know what i mean? cannot be to direct.. nanti tom marah kalu...

Good ..!! now that your'e here..went to Links Power to Dyno tune my car..and as expected on engine is 192.2hp@ 5983 rpm. and the Max.torque at 253Nm@3955rpm.all figures posted are on engine. Fabian was in the car adjusting the mapping...it's smooth while on the Dyno machine..but rough and flat spot at certain rpm..while on the drive

will ask Fabian to explain why...*sigh*...

I suspect its the Oxigen sensor's voltage,mustang injectors and the plug wires ...cos my Ireland engineering plug wire kaput lioa ...Might need ur help getting one back here.

will post the the graph later..cos wanna go wakeboarding liao...

my dynoed hp on wheel 140.2hp@5983rpm and torque : 191Nm@3955rpm

For a manual the transmission loss looks high.......if I remember correctly, pussy's (aka Blackcat) old E34 auto had the same engine output (M50B25 @ 192bhp) and did 150whp......pussy, what's the exact readings?

something not right with the car ler.... better check the cables... it was giving me a tough time tuning the SMT6.... to be fair, I would say there's more power since it was misbehaving while on the dyno...

BTW, I also dynoed my ride... gain a few horses with the SMT6... don't have the chart with me.. will post more later..

my old car e34, M50B25TU had 191hp's on the engine at 6580 rpm.. and 148 Hp's on the wheels..43 hp's loss..
about 23% drive train loss..

Agreed with OSF, the readings a little "out". Stock standard 328 has about 160hp at wheel (auto transmission). So if yours have 193 on the crank, similarly it should have at least 160hp at the wheel since yours is equipped with manual transmission.
