Its my humble pardon for replying in some threads in a frustrated manner due to the spec made available to the awesomely designed F30 by the respectable Germans!Its(3series) arrived at an epitome of design excellence after decades of evolution! But the so called LOCAL importers/spec confirmation parties r screwing around with how a BMW is intended to be customized with the extensive availabity of ALL its optional equiptments!LAUNCH IT-Make all of it available! This is NOT kereta tin,or tiga suku spec car brand!Relevant parties do something PROPER!!
Nessman,
Those that are familiar with malaysia's restrictive and archaic auto policy will know why there are no mass manufacturers that do customisation locally.
This is due to kastam's docket price policy. Now imagine (let's say there are 200 owners) individually specifying their cars,
would the kastam dept approved 200 different docket prices??
As for under/over specced, it's depends on what benchmark one is using. What is yours??
In my opinion, the cars launched are reasonably specced in accordance to the needs of the local market. Let's take the 328 as an example, it's selling for slightly lesser than 310k. It would be nice to have HUD, 16 speakers Harman Kardon
sound system and variable sport steering but how much would that add to the selling price? HUD alone costs 15k!! Would one be willing to pay say 350k for a 328i? Or 300k for a 320d/320i??
BMW would be pricing themselves out of the market!! There is a reason why the cars are specced in such a way and it's an open secret that it all ties back to the price points for specific models. Want to make a guess which model of the E90 sold the most? M3? 335? 325sport? Or 320i?
Don't blame BMW or as a matter of fact other premium brands like Audi and Merc which are also practising similar policy. Its our government's policies to be blamed! Like everyone else I also want to spec my car to my taste and pay lesser for cars, but before we can have that the government needs to change its policies OR we change the government
Cheers
