Defect or Normal condition of exhaust muffler for 328i, 2012?

After one month waiting, my muffler has been replaced with new one...So happy... :smile:

Thanks' to Wheelcorp Premium Setia ALam, for their excellent and effecient service especially to Ms Herda and Mr Ng. Really satisfy with the service given.. very good and professional...

It's a normal condition, good that they changed it for you. I've noticed this on most 328 but not all, hopefully they changed the materials
 
Good for you Zubaidah. Mine was complained a few weeks ago and they refused to replace. Was told by the Head of Customer Service that it is normal and shall not hampered performance thus they put anti rust to it. Wondering why different approach.
 
Agreed with maroonbug...it is normal as I have the same brownish color on the exhaust. It is not rust I think its metal oxidation.
