Taking the Kerinchi Link from the Federal Highway, after paying toll, if you choose to go back toward KL, you will approach a U-turn at the end of a slope. The incline of the slope, coupled with the sharpness of the U-turn corner, makes a dangerous combination, even at what would normally be slow speed.Members please be aware, and take this corner with great care.Esp if you have a tail-happy car like e36... and something heavy in the boot... don't ask...

Lee,

I had a terrifiying experience once myself on that highway. In my case tho' it was pourin cats and dogs and to make it worst me freakin wipers werent working. Missed the wall by inches. Be cautious people.

No worries friend.

But be careful, esp if the e36 is on standard suspension, and old tires, alright?

Felix da Cat, you got 9 lives mah.... :D

We mere mortals have only one.... so kena jaga jaga.

Lee,

Guess u beat me to it......guys - sifu Lee here can drift his car with inches to spare at this spot!

He will be our next D1 Drift Malaysia representative.....with the E36 UDM no less!!!

TABIK man! .....pssttt, see u 10th June ah!

Thanks for the warning. May I suggest to those that don't want to bang up their rides to keep to the posted speed limit. This way, you avoid the unfortunate repairs and serious pride buster.

The two corner after the toll and onto the Federal Highway at high speeds can be a little hairy too. So watch out since the road is a little narrow and guarded with thick concrete barriers on both ends.

Jules,

Aiyo, please don't call me sifu, drifter, etc. Compared to some of the experts and longtimers here, I hardly qualify.

The e36, esp in its original form, is somewhat dangerously tailhappy; initial understeer followed by sudden oversteer. This, coupled w some sharp blind corners, may be a recipe for bodyshop business... 10th June is unavoidable liao... seems I need to refresh my counter-steer skills...

RedZ4,

I know which two corners you mean. Have seen many tire marks on those sidewalls as a sobering reminder... esp fwd cars...

People never learn from other people's mistakes....

As for me, I usually take it easy on that part of the road.

Those speed meters are great.
I always try to do better than the next person or beat my previous best. I think I've gotten it up to 110kph once on the first trap and a little less than that on the second. :eek:k:
Anyone care to share their trap speeds. Oh btw, I was in a E30 so those numbers are nothing too fancy.

Disclaimer: Speeding is bad. Don't do anything that will jeopardize yourself or others on the road.

RedZ4,

How do I put this diplomatically...

If you don't mind, this thread is to warn people of the dangerous corner in Kerinchi Link.

Not to compare how fast you can go pass the speed detector...

Please take note, ok? Thanks.
