HI Beemer People,I need help. There's a noise on the front right side when i drive. It sounds like a cricket ( a kind of insect ) It's really bothering me coz my car is just 5 + months old. Does anyone know what's causing it.Don't think its from the engine.Lynn

Are you sure you are not wearing one of these watches while driving?

Jokes aside, may I know what car are you driving sis? The noise comes from the door panel or the instruments panel?

Nice one, Fun Fer.

320 i brother, pardon me but where is the instrument panel?

Jockey bearing for the fan belt? I'll mention that to the service people ( so that they know Im kinda clever)

Any other ideas, beemer people?

Instrument panel is the "meeta-piu" la. In Cantonese.. :p Also known as meter cluster.. :D

If really cricket sound then SC ppl can't kao tim le. Need pest control folks..

Lynn,

when does the "cricket" sound comes on?
a. Continuous even when the car is stationary but engine runing.
b. When you go above certain speed.
c. when you go over a bump (at high speed or low speed)
d. when you take a sharp corner.
e. air-con ON or OFF
f. none of the above. if not, pls specify.

Lynn, I am guessing...the "criket" noise is it coming from the driver's door???

If so, then you could have inherited the so call disease in E90 BMW cars better known as "rattling door noise" which some owners have it just like mine one. The rattling noise is very obvious whenever going over a bump or uneven road. The noise is generated from the door rubber seals. The rubber door seal used is not suitable in this country but there are fixes that can be done by the SC.

Check the forum threads for rattling door noise which has been posted............

Dude...did u check if there's a cricket in your car? Like literally a real cricket?

Thanks forthe link , Jarance.

Thank goodness my cricket sound is not as severe as that chaps's . Just that i have to spend a lot of time bring my car to the service centre .

All E90 sold in BOLEHLAND is definitely coming from Kulim! So depend on your luck you either inherit the problem or you wont. So pray that you dont "kena lottery" if you ever intend to get one E90 for yourself
