(to verify that you have the same problems as I did, you could just lower your window by just a tiny 1 or 2mm, and if the noise goes away, then you probably have the same issues as I had before).

My solution to the creaking door frame:
Apply leather care lotion generously to the felt type material on the window frame. Rub them in. You are done. 5 minutes stuff. No annoying advisor to deal with, no expensive replacement blah blah blah.

My first use of this, the noise left me for more than 1.5 years. Came back a bit, I did the lotion thing again. Car now coming to 4 years. No problem.

Try it. I have a few friends try this out and it worked for them also.

Don't use wax, or WD40. I figured if the leather lotion is gentle to the leather, then it should be gentle enough for felt material. Or maybe we can try "wife's body lotion. hahaha".

The dash board creaks, my workshop fixed that for me. I don't know what they did but I suspect they put silicon between it and the body frame at the front window side.

Stranger, would you care to tell us which particular leather care lotion you used?

Hi all Bros out there, real keen to do the Teflon tape to avoid those door panel cracking sound. Apart from BM World at Desa Pandan, is there any workshop available near Sunway can provide the same solutions? Appreciate advice. Tx

Hi Guys,

I also have the same problem and it really annoyed me but not anymore. The car is 03 built.

I found the solution to this in other forum and it really works.

Rather than changing the door seal which is very expensive, i just applied the 'vaseline' on the upper door seal. No more squeaking sound. I believe this should be save since vaseline is used for the lips.

Just try at one of the doors as a trial.

Dear Forummers:

My E60's cracking sound from windown panel and dashboard is killing me,

dont spend lot of money its simply only last time i also kena,
that only 3M presure tape form just stick around door angle following your door rubber

and try

Ok now,we've had various suggestions and quite frankly if we tried the silicone spray(which doesn't work in my case),the Vaseline.the leather care lotion and finally the 3M tape,I get this feeling my doors are gonna look like Britney Spears's make up table, in other words, messed up.Could somebody here in the know how please post some pictures with clear directions as to where and what exactly do we apply whatever that works?I tried lowering my windows by a few mm and it works but that can be quite tricky.Sometimes you tend to lower too much and you get road noise in.So much money paid for so much noise?:stupid:

i think i have solved the e60 window panel creaking sound problem by covering the felt portion of your door panel with a long strip of silicone tape, basically covering the entire felt portion. the solution should be permanent as the tape is made of silicone material so it wont come off as easily as spray or cream :)

Damage: RM80 for the silicone tape, 0 for labor (DIY)

p/s: i think teflon tape work as well

Holy shite!! that sounds like a major rip off even by Ah Kow standards...yeah bro, could you please post some pictures and also where to get this Teflon/Silicone tape?

My own issue with the crackling windows were sorted out today at Auto Bavaria Penang. While I am unsure how long it will last, the following was carried out:

1. Re-alignment of all 4 doors.
2. Application of Teflon tape on the underside of High-Gloss Shadowline(the area that is in contact with the doors itself).

Hope this helps.

My two cents:

Vaseline is a no-no. Petroleum based lube and rubbber....sound familiar?
There is a powdery residue on the rubber seals on all the doors. It's there the day you get your car. We just gotta find out what it is atart slathering on the stuff.

Sighs...it's sad to have to find ways to stop a car that costs so much from creaking.
