Coolant level alarm (E46)

Hello Guys,Lately, the coolant level alarm mysterious appeared when i was driving. it appeared for a few minutes and disappear and returned after sometime (2 to 60 minutes). the radiator water level checked ok, engine temperature ok.Anybody has similar experience ? Hope you guys can help out.Thank you."UDM E46 318i"

i experienced exactly the same on my way back home today.

while waiting for poll's update, appreciate if one could confirm:
- shud i bring to sc immediately tomorrow morning?
- can i just simply add coolant first then later only bring to sc? is it safe? (as i got important meeting tomorrow morning)

if the stick is still sticking out from your expansion tank, should be OK (meaning your coolant is still full and most likely its the coolant level sensor like what affan66 mention). however, get it check as soon as you are done with your meeting.

sorry for the late update. just found back this thread.

am not really sure what was the faulty. had few items to be changed.

but the radiator spare tank burst when i just arrived at mech in bb bangi.
according to the mech it cud be because of the faulty thermostat. so changed the thermostat as well.

am glad it works fine now..

p/s: today saw got crack at my back tyre.. *sigh* one after another..

+ met salina also on the same day. join her ice lemon tea'ing at oldtown white coffee cyberjaya with her 'ehem ehem'.. :biggrin:

So r so lucky. Mine burst on the way driving to workshop. Ended up spend few Ks. Huhu. Thermostat faulty is the one was told.

hi...your coolnt level alarm show like this maybe bcoz of your swicth not contck properly this is one of the coz try to check bcoz i got happen this problem b4 may i knw r u frm?if jb i have a one very good mechanic for bmw speclist u no need to worry if u go there if u wnt to knw u can cntck me at this no 0197396144
