Dear Fellow Forummers,I would like to find out for those of you who have changed your air-conditioning compressor unit, Does the fan belt needs to be replaced at the same time as well?P/S How often does the fan belt need to be replaced?Cheers,E60MSport

I was quoted RM2300 for a Denso Compressor (brand new with 1 year warranty). Just wondering if it is advisable to change it outside Auto Bavaria as I was quoted RM5500 for the compressor alone. Don't know if there is any programming needed to be carried out when changing the compressor.

P/S I also noticed that the car's current compressor is branded under Denso as well!

Apparently the e60's compressor is repairable. I've seen Naidu replacing a sensor inside the compressor and was told that there's no need to have the entire thing replaced unless the compressor has broken parts in it. If i'm not wrong, the sensor + labour + dryer is around ~RM850.

I changed outside, around RM2300 New unit. No problem at all.
Did you have to change the dryer as well?

Hmmm.. I wonder where can this sensor be purchased. I was informed that my compressor is faulty and needs replacement. The A/C system only gets cold when the vehicle is moving. When stationery for long periods e.g traffic lights or congestions, it will blow warm air.

Bro,

Usually need to change as a wear & tear item.. how much did it cost you by the way

I haven't changed mine yet. I was wondering if it does need to be replaced along with the compressor change. Is it an expensive item?

You can give Naidu a call at 019.211.0554. His workshop is behind the Shell Station next to the KWSP building in Petaling Jaya.

If it's a sensor issue in the compressor, all that needs to be replaced is the sensor. I think it's around RM850 for the sensor + dryer + labour. Loads cheaper then having the entire compressor replaced!

Best to drop by Naidu's place first and let him have a look at your problem.

Thanks pal,

Unfortunately I'm located in Sabah and won't be able to drive over :(. The choice of continental car mechanics are just limited.

Cheers
