My aircond is making funny sounds right now, but so far it is still cold enough. Another thing that i found weird is that when i plug in my bmw scanner, it gives "HVAC motor faulty" error message. I suppose if the motor is faulty, my aircond wont work?

HVAC is a motor to regulate the temp and also to pump hot water to AC system when you switch to heater mode. Bro I have that motor bro for sale.

Bro, are you saying even HVAC motor faulty, the aircond still work (still cold)?
I thought if hvac faulty aircon also wont work. Haha.. But i do notice temp control is a bit out. Anyway pmed u alrdy.

I was told compressor for E46 to cond RM2.2K.....what type is RM1.2K?
Where is that place.....if new and all RM1.6K boleh la, This shop in Salak South charge RM1.1K for recond inc service. hmmmm

It was bought and installed at Naidu. Being using for a month now and it is damn cold.. LOL

Actually the marking is for E39 but can be used for E46. Maybe for E39 is cheaper..

Yes Naidu said E36 is cheaper than E46 (2.0) model.

Yes, hot during idle. If it is moving fast, can feel a bit of cold air.

If make funny sound, it means that the compressor is about to kaput. maybe another 6 months usage.
If the compressor fail, better to get a new one rather than recon type. I have 2 recon compressor fitted and both
fail with 2 months usage. Finally change to new compressor at Naidu.

Sifu.. you may be bad luck on recon compressor changed ya ! Lol..
Fyi i did change mine since March 2012 at my friend workshop and it was just recently gv me problem.

Ok I think my compressor finally gave in.. Haha..am scouting around for best deal for compressor changeout. Read that better change to new one. Any latest price update? Anyone has recently change compressor for N42?

Update: Changed compressor, dryer, and electronic relay. Cost slightly above 2k.

For mine, it's as follows:
1) vacuum out oil and gas and refill oil - RM120
2) dryer - RM160
3) refill gas - RM60

Total RM340, no need to remove dashboard

Apologies Sifus, any place where can vacuum out oil from compressor and refill?

I think you should do it at Naidu as well. sent my car there for a/c job so many times before
